That Human Contraption || ness&ruby
[he's seen a whole set of them, on campus. Not as many as he's heard there are elsewhere-- perhaps the Academy simply isn't big enough to warrant it.]
[but they look so cool. In Sazanaara's bright domed cities and long ramps and canals, there's nothing like them, even though he's seen that they run on wheels and therefore can handle the ramps.]
[regardless, they're pretty and swift and move like a flight of darting fish, and they glide, smoothly, and he's totally entranced-- so much so, that it took him a while to go up to a user of one when she was-- disembarking? docking? he doesn't know the term-- and ask her what they were called.]
Bicycles.
[it took even longer since he's seen one unattended-- the school apparently has a program where you can borrow them-- but he's just seen one and his curiosity totally overcame him.]
[that explains why he's here on a quieter boulevard, kind of half-awkwardly straddling this bike with his uniform fluffed out behind him, half-walking and half-riding with a frown of deep concentration. this bike is also probably too tall for him, and it shows in the way he's tipping, oop--]
[letting out a surprisingly girly shriek as he overbalances. please come save him, ruby.]
