H4
I was asked by my resident to interview a patient that was H4 probable, about his personal and social history, specifically his sexual history. It was my first time to ask instead of just listen. I tried to look at them directly in the eyes, without judgement or prejudice or worst, pity, and I hope I succeeded. I was awkward, I was fidgeting and I regret that. As a doctor, compassion is a requirement and pity is a different thing entirely. Next time you interview these patients, try to center the former.
