I sat there in the holding room, head rested back against the soft curve of the chair, eyelids drawn to signal that I was not interested in making any small talk. Truth be told, I could not think of anything worse than feigning politeness and discussing holiday plans for an hour with people I barely knew.

It was the last day of exams. A month of demanding, excruciating, painstaking cramming of knowledge which would culminate into a four assessment pieces. Late night study sessions online with friends, days spent in the park with books and papers sprawled out on picnic rugs, dreams of failing the year by half a percentage point (the exact amount I'd failed my midyear by). I regretted taking on so much extra work, naively thinking I'd catch up at the end of the year.

The only thing that's caught up is the year. With me. The content? No idea where that is, but I can tell you where it's not: my brain.
