This is in tribute to Esteliel’s heart-breaking (but still fluffy) Christmas-themed fic, “Juniper and Camphor” (which can be found here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/5510168), and to cheer myself up from the sombre thoughts of Valjean’s and Javert’s mortality (as per the theme of this fic). In preparation for the upcoming Christmas, Valjean is fixing up the creche for Cosette’s children again and Javert’s defiance (re: Valjean’s life) continues to know no bounds. Luckily, this defiance worked (for the time being).
