New Car
I got a new (used) car in May 2009. I was...excited.
Me: I got a new car!!! WOoooooOOOOooo!!!
Coworker: That’s awesome!
Me: Yeah! One with a radio! And climate control!
Coworker: Oh…that’s…good?
Me: And brakes and steering that work! And no oil or gas leaks!
Coworker: …Uhh…
Me: …look, I know. My old car kinda lowered the bar as far as my expectations.
Bonus:
Me: Also, no giant colony of semi-sentient mold growing in the unsealed trunk!
Coworker: DUDE! What the hell kind of car were you driving?
Me: …I wouldn’t call it a “car,” per se…more a loose collection of metal and rubber that more or less travelled in the same direction without usually catching fire.
