Lake View is a painting inspired by a dream that I had. In the dream, I was taking pictures of a lake, trying to get reference photos for a painting. The location I was taking pictures in my dream actually has a river in my waking life, not a lake. However, we are calling it "Lake View" for the sake of my dream. After I finished taking pictures of the lake, I started walking back to my car, thinking I'd be returning to my old 1969 Nova. In my waking life, I actually sold the car two years ago, in 2023. With my Nova in mind, I was startled to find that there was something not right about the car. As I got closer to the car, I could see there was a lot of rust. I approached the car, and it had transformed into an old, rusty 1930s Plymouth. I felt a little panicked and rushed to get a better look. In disbelief, I brushed off a crumbling, flaking piece of paint from the driver-side door with my hand, revealing even more rust. At that point, I woke up from the dream. I don't exactly know the meaning behind the dream, but I couldn't stop thinking about it. I think my subconscious mind wanted me to paint a lake, and this car wanted to be in the painting.
