You got some thoughts about Nagito as Servant? (Or just Nagito in general)
My thoughts are currently:
If my friends quietly whisper the word “slutttttt” every time Servant is on the screen, I’ve been playing the game right.
Okay, okay for reals though. First of all, I really like his design. Something about the Nightmare on Elm Street look he’s sporting with that sweet ass jacket. And of course, that beautiful mitt… hehe…
I like the way he talks in this one. It’s very meta. I think best example of this is his constant calling out of Komaru as his boring protagonist that he shaped up to be a wonderful source of Hope. In Chapter Four particularly, I swear to God, Kodaka just used Servant as a puppet to speak through him on the true purpose of games, going all “I gave your rough challenges, not unbearable ones, but ones you could beat to slowly build up your confidence until this point. I gave you a journey for you to grow” etc. Something about that… is just really cool.
In essence, this is a Despair Nagito, the person we know in the second game but you know… at his worse. And he is. He proclaims his unabashed love for Junko, openly and snidely reminds Kotoko of her past as an actress, and so smoothly threatens and bullies even Nagisa into running away, knowing he’s terrified of Monaca. He’s still physically weak, but this is peak Nagito Komaeda scheming. And it’s so much fun.
Also, I got to see him covered in white stuff in the same game that he said that he hates and loves Junko more than anything in the world. Truly this was a game of beautiful duality. :3
