                     UNFORTUNATELY, this conversation isn’t as rare as juno wishes it was, but then he can’t help it, his line of work tends to gravitate towards those things. there’s a familiartiy to it, something that draws him to think, yeah . . . maybe we have.   “ have we ? ”   an honest question, maybe they’ve started to blur together, maybe juno just isn’t as sharp as he used to be. it’s not that he’d ever forget a case, but if someone was involved in a case but wasn’t important enough to solving it . . . well they might just slip his mind.

                    “ YOU GOT A QUESTION, you can just ask. ”   juno tries for polite and for once, misses the mark, his words more hostile than his tone may suggest. it’s not personal really, just a long day of refusing cases while rita side eyes him, it’s getting on his nerves. he doesn’t apologize, just sighs.   “ look, really there’s not much i can do on this . . . ”    which isn’t the truest of statements, but if it will get the other detective out of his office, he’ll lie all afternoon. it isn’t that he thinks he’s the best detective on mars, far from it, it’s just that he’s not the best at playing well with others, and the last two exceptions he made to that rule . . . well it just didn’t end well on either part, really.

juno would wear heels but they aren’t practical for rooftop chases or running through sewers.
