#juno scribbles #rogue legacy 2 #ITS LIKE. okay. the banishment of naamah is a phenomenal plot choice but rl2 has a serious problem of neglecting to foreshadow #and it hits this plot point especially hard. which is unfortunate bc its the only one that all of the [remaining] estuaries react to #(enoch lamech irad naamah) and it causes them to act in ways they otherwise wouldnt #enoch vows to kill irad. lamech almost defies him. naamah begins to kill out of mercy and this is the event that totally breaks irad #(AND YOU CAN PRY THAT LAST ONE FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS. THERES AN ANGEL STATUE ON THE BROKEN TITLECARD.)#(ONES ONLY FOUND IN THE KERGUELEN PLATEAU)#its also one of the only plot points that naamah is taken seriously AS AN ESTUARY -- the writing is repeatedly and continually misogynistic #towards her and when irad is speaking about her (all of these lines here) hes taking her seriously #as much as it looks like this plot beat is dismissing the only prominent female character it actually respects her as a character #more than the majority of her writing does. And i have an analytical paper on that too im not fucking playing.#though not without fault; naamah never gets to tell the story of her own banishment. it comes from the mouth of a man who ruins her life #and so many other lives #and thats kind of what i wanted to focus here on in my rendition of that set of lines. the fact that its ABOUT NAAMAH #because of course irad is talking like that hes self-justifying to hell and back. but... it happened to naamah. its her story #that she never gets to tell.#ugh ufh ughhhh theyre my two favorites its like being hit in the ribcage with a hammer. repeatedly.#I COULDVE NOT FUMBLED THIS PLOT POINT. OUT OF MY FUCKING WAY I COULDVE WRITTEN IT BETTER. MOVEEEEEEEEE #okay. breathes out. im done #EDIT. for those curious i did this in about a week lmao

reread the young elites in the span of approx. 30 hours. got really upset about how adelinas character was fumbled (again). drew her for the first time in like 11 years
