How do you like, introduce ocs?? Because I'm getting back into my original story at the moment, and I want to introduce them, but I for the life of me cannot figure out how to introduce them.... (those intro gifsets you do give me life) -@heresthefanfiction
my formula is:
a gif to put their name and something important about them on, be it profession or title - just something distinct about their character that is very prevalent in the story. it also helps if you have a colour palette for the character or story, to make it more visually appealing.
example:
another gif with their main dynamic (platonic, romantic, familial), or maybe of them doing something or saying something that is very telling of their character:
and rinse and repeat!
or, to introduce an entire story, make sure to have gifs that are important to the main plot, with dialogue scenes that will inform and intrigue the reader to know what they're in for.
after the cast has been introduced, it's always fun to have an edit full of dynamics between them!
Tell me all about Willow and Jon Grady!! I'm talking plot summary, fic link if you've got it, heck, even crossover thoughts if you want to (if not no pressure)!! (this may or not be for Jurassic OCs Weekly...)
HERE WE GO!
Willow and Jonathan Grady are the children of Owen Grady (he met their mother, Adelaide, during one of his leaves). Will’s fc is Katherine McNamara and Jon’s is Alexander Ludwig. Jon is the oldest, and is WAY more chill than Will. He’s in college around the time of the events of JW, studying to be a marine biologist. He’s legit the best big brother; when he and Will were children, he always let her hang out with him and his friends if she wanted to. Jon is also a champion swimmer (particularly in backstroke), the Mosasaurus is his fave dinosaur (he nicknamed her Moana), he likes to sail in his free time, and he has a massive crush on one of Will’s best friends (although @claryxjackson and I have a crossover with Jon and her JW OC, Cody, and they are the true OTP). Now, I should say that Jon is only briefly shown during Will’s JW story. He becomes more prominent in Fallen Kingdom.
Willow Grady is the youngest, and she has a VERY turbulent relationship with Owen. Now, as kids, she adored her dad and she would be SO excited to go and visit him when he was training the raptors because Owen had them bond with her and Jon as well. Blue, in particular, took a shine to Will. However, the relationship began to sour when Owen started becoming more focused on the raptors, and not on Jon and Will growing up. By the time JW happens, Will full on hates her dad and the raptors and refuses to have anything to do with them.
Will is an artist; she loves to sketch and paint, thanks in part to her godmother Lex Murphy (she and Adelaide were roommates in college). She also is a basketball player and an equestrian rider. She has a total of 3 pets: her first is Penny, her main horse. Second is Maya, the Husky-Wolf hybrid she bought while on a trip to MT with her friends. Third is Flicka, a wild black filly she befriended on the same MT trip. Will and Rexy have a unique bond as well; when her relationship between Owen and the raptors started to deteriorate, she would go to Rexy’s enclosure and hang with her. Over the years, Rexy started considering Will as the hatchling she never had and was VERY protective over her.
Will started out as a love interest for Zach Mitchell, but since Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins aren’t in Fallen Kingdom or Dominion, I created a new love interest for her named Leo. He was a childhood friend of Jon’s, and Will had a massive crush on him.

“In my defense, Sam didn’t even know I was alive for a while there..” Emily sounded exhausted. “I, uh, want to warn you though..”
“The dinosaurs have escaped. In California.” There was a quiver in Emily’s voice. “I’ve already told Dad, and Ellie and Ian. And I’m going to call Tim after this.”
“But I just, thought you should know..”
I’m back again, trying to distract myself this time. And continuing the last one.
“I’m so sorry, Em.” Lizzy felt like she was tumbling into a nightmare. Relieved she was far away from imminent danger, but terrified that the people she loved were not.
It wasn’t her responsibility anymore. She was done. She wasn’t getting dragged back into it all.
She just couldn’t. But then again, she wasn’t exactly inexperienced with these animals.
Emily was talking again, but Lizzy was elsewhere, preoccupied with finding out when the next flight to California departed.
okay so the scene that immediately jumped to mind was a huge spoiler so enjoy the second angstiest moment for Cody
her first really big heartbreak in the franchise is when Wes sided with Hoskins over her and Owen.
she doesn’t show it at the time but it really hurt her, I mean she loved him a lot.
so that’s a real fun heartbreak for her.

she is not thriving. She is going through it.
i mean she went though it and now she’s… in a weird place.
it’s been five years since everything at ockwood’s estate. She’s in a stable relationship with her girlfriend which is fun. er relationship with James is almost normal now. But overall? The dinosaur apocalypse has not been good for her.
