Also being so close to V-Day theres some hopeless romanticism sprinkled in there. From the intense love and power of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, to the heroism and romance of Tuxedo Mask’s rose in Sailor Moon creates a narrative of power, love, and hurt. Rosalia’s “Juro Que” and Kim Petras’ “Faded” show relationships between people and how vastly different the two portray. Kim Petras being featured twice was no mistake, she is chipping away at the old structure of transphobia. Death Becomes Her and The First Wives Club are two movies that will always be ingrained in my mind. Meryl’s smiling face after shooting Goldie. The three wives dancing and skipping down the streets of New York in the 90′s is the exact energy I want my life to have for as long as possible. Mulan hits my heart so incredibly hard, ever since I was a child I’ve related to her and to this day cry at the movie. It’s been a huge symbolism of my identity and courage to move forward through anything. The last is a phenomenal video of Hong Kong, the city and its energy and constant movement has always been on my mind since I visited New York in 2005. This was fun, and most importantly interesting on trying to find those 2-3 seconds of these videos that really spoke to my narrative and also had the visual action to match it.
