You tend to wake up early during your menstruation period. Basically around the same time as your husband, Jushiro. So during these times, expect waking up to a cup of warm water near your bedside. Everything will be within arms reach.

Sweet husband.

“Good morning, my love.” Jushiro greets you warmly.

‘Oh, he’s so beautiful.’ You thought as you looked up at him in a daze. He let out a soft chuckle and proceeded to place his arm behind your back so he could help you sit up. A smile plays on his face as he sees your dazed look.

‘Cute’, he thought.

But being the sweet lover he is, he voices his thoughts out loud because you deserve to know it and it is the truth.

“You’re so adorable” he says, chuckling a little while handing you the cup of warm water. He tucked your hair behind your ear while you took a sip from the steaming cup. Your lips curved up at the gesture.

You pulled the cup away from your lips then placed your head on his shoulder. His hands immediately wrapped around your waist, pulling you in for a hug. You both stayed like that for a moment then you pulled away looking at your husband, but he was already looking at you with that drop dead gorgeous smile of his. The kind of smile that made the ladies in the Soul Society swoon over him.

When he was single.

You let out a small laugh thinking about it.

“What’s so funny love? Jushiro asks, bringing one of his hands to caress your face.

His touch is oh so soft and soothing. Like those of an angel.

“Your smile is lethal, my love.” You said leaning in his touch while placing your hand on top of his.

Jushiro had a surprised expression for a moment then chuckled in that slight baritone voice of his. “Is it so lethal that I have captivated you my dear?” he says smugly while gently tilting your chin up.

‘Oh? So this is how he’s gonna play?’

You took his hand and led his index close to your mouth.

“Yeah, I think so. So lethal, that I have fallen deep for you…” you said in a slightly sultry voice then bit his finger gently.

Jushiro’s breath hitched at the sight. You released his finger then you were suddenly pulled closer to him, his breath close to your ear. He nibbled on your earlobe while whispering,

“If you keep on doing this to me, I won’t be able to hold myself back”.

Your body stiffened then relaxed. “Then don’t hold back once this predicament I'm in is over okay?”

Jushiro sighed and removed himself from your ear, he pulled you close, closing the remaining distance, hugging you. “Sorry love, I let myself get carried away”.

You shook your head, “Mmm you’re good baby. It was partly my fault for teasing you too”. You replied while moving to place your chin on his shoulder and rubbed his back up and down.

“You’re too good to me”. Jushiro whispers in your hair as he melts in your embrace.

Jushiro watched you from where he sat on the warm sand. His white hair blew in the gentle breeze and his eyes were fixed lazily on you. You stood a few feet away, your ankles dipped in the cold ocean.

You were wearing the one piece bathing suit that you claimed to hate. The one that hugged your curves immaculately and matched your complexion perfectly. When you turned to smile at him it was as if a weight was lifted from his shoulders. It was often like this when it came to you. You were the light in his world. Life could feel dark at times for him, his illness made some days difficult but none of that mattered once he met you.

You, with your bright smile that even at his worst, always brought out his best.

The sun cast a warm light from above you, you were practically glowing in his eyes. You always were but the way the sun shun upon you caused his heart to swell.

Jushiro thought even if he died today, he'd die a happy man knowing you graced him with your presence.

"The waters so cold!" You exclaimed over the sound of rushing water as it rose up to engulf your feet and ankles. Jushiro remembered the first time he took you to the beach, you'd never seen the beach before and you were absolutely enamoured by everything. He could never forget the look on your face when you first stepped barefoot onto the sandy shore. Your face completely lit up and you giggled when he scooped you up to take you towards the water. He could still hear your laughter when he walked into the water while holding you in his arms. Your face completely creased up in laughter, your eyes watery and your nose scrunched up in that cute way it did when you laughed.

He found himself wishing he could join you today, the smile on your face made it all the more difficult to sit on the sand just to watch. But he knew better, his chest was even tighter than usual today. He couldn't exert himself but he was content watching the love of his life and you were content as long as he was.

A few moments went by and you began running back over to him. Water dripping off your ankles and feet as you ran. The sand darkened into prominent footprints and when you flopped down beside him sand flew everywhere.

"I wish we didn't have to go back home." You admitted with a frown.

"I know, my dear. I would stay here with you for eternity if I could." Jushiro responded weakly and when you sat up to look at him you had such a glint in your eye.

"Imagine that. Imagine if we had no soul reaper responsibilities...We could just spend our days at the beach together. We could make sand castles , relax on the sand and swim until our legs fell off." You spoke excitedly

"that would be wonderful. Perhaps one day when I retire we'll have that life. I want that life with you." Jushiro muttered and the smile on your face told him that you wanted that more than anything in the world.

You were one of the lucky ones, truth he told. Many soul reapers died in the war. Many including your partner, Jushiro...

He'd sacrificed himself, you couldn't be more proud of him.

You followed the dream you once spoke about.

Due to some long lasting injuries that you received during battle, you were forced to retire early. You were somewhat grateful because you could now spend the rest of your days doing exactly what you and Jushiro once spoke about.

So, that's what you did. You would head to the beach most days, you'd make sand castles, relax on the sand and swim until your legs felt like giving out. You swore in those moments you could feel him smiling at you, grateful that you were able to live out your dream.

Can you tell I was in a sleepy mood when writing this? 😅

You were beyond tired, but you wanted to wait up for Jushiro. You couldn't help your heavy eyelids and the softness of the comforter dancing along your skin.

You don't even notice when Jushiro opens the door and walks inside. His cheeks flush as his eyes lock onto you, lips slightly parted open and eyes closed.

His eyes stare at you and you slowly flutter your eyes open. Your heart skips a beat as you glance over at Jushiro and you rapidly lift your head up from your pillow.

"Jushiro, you're home!" you greet him with a wide smile and excitement. You sit up on the bed and open your arms.

"You didn't have to wait up for me if you're that tired, y/n," Jushiro comments, sinking down in the bed as you wrap your arms around his neck.

"No, I was awake," you try to reassure him as he links his arms around your waist. You lean your body against Jushiro's and he cocks an eyebrow.

"No, I'm awake. I promise," you mumble out and Jushiro lets out a tiny chuckle. Jushiro runs his large, warm palms up and down your back as your eyes become heavy once again.

Your arms loosen around his neck as you rest your head on the curve of his neck.

"Mhm, really?" Jushiro's gentle voice hums out and you nuzzle into his warm skin.

"Yes," you mumble out, slurring over your words. A smirk tugs on Jushiro's face and he sinks down into the bed, taking you with him. A tired giggle leaves your lips and Jushiro runs his large hand over your hair.

"Well now, you can sleep, darling," Jushiro teases you and a faint smile dances its way onto your face.

Jushiro gazes down at you and he lets out a tiny scoff. Your eyes were closed and your expression was so soft as you were lulled into a deep sleep.

His heart soars at the sight of you and he secures his arms around you. Jushiro places a soft kiss on your forehead and flicks off the lights.
