It’s today. In just a few more hours, Ash and Pikachu will venture off into places we cannot anymore—Steven Universe Future style. There were a lot of memorable moments in the anime.

Some funny, some heartwarming, some bitter...

We are going to miss them so so so much. But it’s time to say goodbye to the eternal-ten-year-old stuck in an everlasting summer. We met different characters through Ash, plus we will see how the TRio’s story ends soon too. They’ve been following this trainer through several other regions. We laughed, we cried, we raged at the Unova seasons even if they were competent.

The Pokémon Anime was never perfect. Many people hate how childish Ash became after the determined Kalosian version. He makes dumb mistakes despite having eight regions of travel experience. Pikachu kept getting de-powered in the earlier season so he wasn’t op. Tobias came out of nowhere with two mythical Pokemon on his team. Not every trainer in the Alolan League had a full team of six. And yet most fans still love it in spite of any nitpicks we have at it.

Ash made us think outside the box. Even if some of his tactics (Thunder Armor! “Go for the horn”) really shouldn't have worked at all.

Goodbye, Ash Ketchum and Pikachu. Misty, Brock, Jessie, James, Meowth, May, Max, Dawn, (maybe Iris. Cilan), Serena, Clemont, Bonnie, Lana, Kiawe, Sophocles, Mallow, Lillie, Gladion, Goh, Chloe, Dahlia, Gary, Champions Lance, Steven, Wallace, Cynthia, Diantha, Leon, Professors Oak, Kukui, Burnet, Cerise...

Ash was always a Pokemon Master in our heart.

(Despite choosing the vaguest dream to ever exist! We still loved watching his adventures.)
