I just started listening to BTS 2.5 months ago, and rejoined tumblr to satiate my need for more BTS content about a month or so after that. MLT was one of the first fics I found and, *listen boy*, it really sets the bar. The detail of your writing is so vivid, yet easy to absorb and immerse myself in. It’s like reading a book I don’t wanna put down because I feel like I’m there, you know?
Anyways, I just wanna ask.... why are so many people so hard on king!Yoongi ??? The relationship you’ve created is incredibly complex, with so much history behind the two while also maintaining historical precedence, it’s not easy for YN to up and leave everything behind. Leaving Yoongi / palace life (even for Taehyung) may mean separating herself from the community she’s served and healed for YEARS. Moreover, it would be separating herself from a generational legacy. Yoongi is basically in the same boat, but with even more pressure on him. So, in my opinion, separating from one another [completely] isn’t really an option.
Let’s also not forget: LOVE. They both are SO in love with one another that leaving each others’ presence would hurt worse than YN seeing Yoongi with someone else, or vice versa. (Obvs correct me if I’m wrong) Having been truly in love, it’s terrifying because it feels like.... permanent, like there’s no one else. There’s no one else for Yoongi, there’s no one else for YN.
Let’s all cut Yoongi some slack and give him a chance to figure shit out, or at least see things from his perspective. In this essay, I will ——

i think that you may have a different perspective on the story, having read it all at once vs. people who've been waiting for my updates haha! i think all at once, it's clearer to see their motivations and to remember how much they are tangled with each other 🤔 you are so right though! the palace represents more than Yoongi. it's where she lived with her mom, it's where she has worked for so many years to carve out a space for herself despite the misogyny, and it's her home.
