“So, do you want to kiss?” 

George feels his blood run cold. Or hot. He isn’t sure anymore. 

The Mercedes motorhome is mostly empty, and very quiet. Toto had already left - had urged George and Max to do the same. Somehow, George is still here. A mosquito zooms past his ears. 

Max looks at him like he’s expecting him to answer that question. As if he had just asked George what time it is, or what he’s doing over the summer break. Not - that. 

He might have misheard, he realizes a bit late, licking over his teeth to check if he’s not dreaming - all of his teeth fall out in his lucid dreams. They are still very much there. He swallows, a chill running down his back - a drip of sweat, too.

“What did you say, mate?” His own words are slurred, but it’s probably not from the alcohol any longer. Max raises an eyebrow. 

“I asked if you want to kiss,” Max says, as if he’s asking George if he’d like a cup of tea, or a ride home, perhaps. He does not trust his ears anymore, even if the mosquito is still zooming past him.

For the first time, or the second, maybe, George considers it. Max is not… un-pretty, or anything of the sort. His lips look plump, and he’d have to lean down a tad to reach them. The thought does not sound despicable, at the very least. 

He hasn’t kissed anyone since -

George scraps that thought. 

In a moment so unlike him he must still be dreaming, if he ever was, George nods. He swallows, and it’s dry. He licks his lips in a disastrous attempt to wet them even a little, cracked from the Bahrain heat. 

Max smiles, reaching for George’s cheek, and he can’t help but let out a sigh, leaning into the touch. His hands are softer than expected. 

He should’ve touched Max, too. His brain is lagging.

Max puts his lips on George’s, shuddering into the kiss. George’s right, as he usually is - his lips are soft, and Max is a good kisser, too. He can’t help but moan as he deepens the kiss, feeling Max lick at his teeth. 

He tries following Max’s lips when he breaks the kiss, and Max has the audacity to giggle. “That was nice. I will see you after the debrief, then?” 

George is left alone in the Mercedes garage once again.

When you spend 2 hours on a drawing you’re super proud of and hype it up with a countdown and everything just for it to flop spectacularly.

@evocationing because i feel that three is a cop out, uh... here's a few more, with some depth to them.

the way you feel when you make someone you love laugh. not the quiet chuckles or huffs of air, but the doubled-over, snortgiggling, wheezing laughter from a poorly timed joke, or a punchline that came across awkwardly.

using things in inappropriate ways. whittled down chopsticks for lockpicks, a scythe as a twirling baton, money used for misdirection, firecrackers as poorly executed and last minute pranks.

metallic lipstick and waterproof mascara. equal parts facade and reality. beautifully ethereal in a way that couldn't be put to words except for the name you know fits the best: lup.

teasing jokes. it's difficult to tell if it's masking worry or if it's genuinely teasing. it's the brand of someone who has seen much, perhaps.

halflidded eyes and challenging smirks. impossible isn't a word in the dictionary for someone like you. it's just an inconvenience at best.

bragging rights kept under the belt. you know what you're capable of, and you like to show it from time to time. but not all the time. mystery isn't so bad sometimes either.

loving and fighting go hand in hand. lover not a fighter doesn't apply. you'll take up arms to protect what and who you love, because love is something to fight for. love is always worth the risk, worth the fight. it's unorthodox, but it gets your point across.
