I do want to say that while I appreciate getting to see more about Yusuke’s mom, I think it’s ultimately for the best that they didn’t include the flashback, because I don’t think it hits as hard as Madarame just explaining what happened.
Because, at least for me, there is nothing as chilling as hearing this man explain in plain words that he understands the significance of this painting. He knows it’s the last wishes of a dying woman, he says so himself, and he still does not care. It’s insidious
