The Host rumbled deeply when he felt Blue’s presence by his side, fully purring when the golem put his hand upon the Host’s arm and leaned against him. Blue buried his whole upper body within the Host’s thick black mane, nuzzling into it like he wanted to curl up and hide there for the rest of the day. The Host couldn’t blame him, he had heard the commotion that both Green and Red had caused. The sphinx made a soft murring noise and turned his head, gently butting up against Blue until the golem reached out to rest his hand on the Host’s nose.
“I don’t want to talk about it,” Blue said, so low the Host had to strain to hear him.
The Host didn’t respond, only nodding and laying his head back down on his paws. He felt Blue slide to the ground and make himself semi comfortable against the Host’s elbow, idly braiding long strands of the Host’s mane while he sat with his thoughts. He wasn’t sure how much time had passed when the Host finally turned his head again and nudged him, pushing one of the many large fruits he sometimes snacked on towards the golem. Blue accepted it without fuss. He had to admit, he felt a bit better after fueling the fire of his heart.
yo I'm semi-accidentally at almost 6000 words for this story of mine whose premise is heavily based on your freakshow au (basically Marv+jj). I suppose I should credit you if I ever decide to share it? (would you be interested in details? it's no longer an au but ocs, btw)

I’d love to see how you transform that idea because JJ certainly is a bastard in that AU and poor Marv can’t do anything. That dynamic and power struggle has a lot left to be explored. And I’d love to see how it might be different based on the different characters!

Uhhhh not really?? This was extremely spur of the moment so they have no official designs right now lol
At the moment I just imagine them all in probably the same outfits with a number to show which success they were (Jackie 1, Marv 2, Henrik 3, Chase 4, and JJ 5). They probably share a scar from where they were first injected into.
Anti is in black clothes in my head and messy. He wasn’t really getting the best care. Maybe some scars from spell burns and chains used to hold him down
And thank you for taking such an interest in this story lol. It’s super improvised right now so I’m glad you’re still liking it even though literally none of what happening is really planned out
