I am definitely feeling perhaps Medium Unwell about learning that the neglect in my upbringing resulted in me developing severe OCD.
Not like Void Dive Unwell. It's more like I'm essentially calm, but every so often my brain makes suggestions like arson or throw glass very hard or just freak out crazy-style.
I'm definitely going to need to do something to get out some steam. Especially since my therapist is out of town for our session next week. Not entirely sure what calming the fuck down looks like in this case. If anyone has any suggestions I'm very much open to hearing them. Until then, if you're someone who I talk to directly on here and I seem weirdly on edge, this is why.
This is (hopefully) the only post I’ll make on this, I’m not even active in the fandom anymore and the hyperfixation is LONG gone, but GO is also the reason I started Tumblr so it feels wrong to not comment on it on some level.
I fucking hate it. There are good bits, obviously, but any good bits are just… the end ruins it. I understand the appeal to some people, but it makes it feel as if the entire show (and the book) just… don’t matter.
The people they show in the end aren’t the people we’ve grown to care for. They’re Asa and Anthony, two humans who know nothing about Aziraphale and Crowley or their relationship. They never had to fight the system to love each other, they never had to balance their need to protect each other with their duties to their head offices. They didn’t even have the same personalities!
The gambling-car-revenge subplot was stupid, unnecessary, and took up time that could have been spent doing actually important things (Aziracrow actually talking, developing the final bookshop conversation better if it had to happen, hell even just showing Asa and Anthony more so we could MAYBE care about them). It was 8+ minutes of an irrelevant side plot with characters we’ve never met.
Satan? God? Why are they there. What is this. This all feels like we’re erasing the meaning of everything that’s happened.
Asa and Anthony are an AU of Crowley and Aziraphale, and that’s fine, but it’s also not them. It will never be them. And that pisses me off.
Oh, and as @ineffableaddiction mentioned, the fate of the entire universe was left entirely to a depressed demon with clear substance abuse issues. I love Crowley as much as the next guy, but what the fuck
AND ANOTHER THING! Aziraphale is an ASSHOLE. A genuine ASSHOLE. He’s an AWFUL FUCKING PERSON in this season and I’m so fucking mad about it.
I have so many things. Edit to add: God is also an asshole
I'm gonna end up becoming a bird watcher... Partner has a bunch of fancy binoculars his dad gave him; I need to get a birb manual and put them to use.
I see so many surprising ones these days. Bald eagle is always a shocker. Moments ago, I just saw some kind of golden hawk/eagle/falcon type raptor flying directly over the cul-de-sac, but I have no idea how to identify it, which feels rude on my part. A gorgeous mythological-lookin' spirit animal swings through my mundane suburban life and I'm like "Oooh. yeah. um... that thing sure has big wings!!?"
Rarely, I'll see (or hear) owls at night. We get cute little guys too; cardinals and bluejays and little tiny floofs that rarely sit down long enough for me to even see what color they are.
And crows and ravens, but those guys are on my shit list because I've seen them harass and eat too many babies. I know the raptors and owls must do it too but at least they keep it quiet. The crows make a ruckus and seem to enjoy it........ shady
No mun pic but you can have this pic of my silly dog trying to con me out of a chocolate chip cookie. She thinks if she sits she can have things so she just plops down if I have anything even remotely interesting.
