hiiiii I’ve been I love with your writing since I’ve discovered you! I got into minted first before reading 3tan and basically binged the whole thing in two days ahahahaha
Anyways, I was wondering if you have any advice for aspiring writers?? I just can’t seem to get over the fear to post smt and keep nitpicking my works, so any advice would be appreciated!!💜💜
wait that’s so sweet!! i’m happy you’re enjoying the stories🥺 more to come for both 3tan and minted! omg you read all of 3tan in two days?? holy heck that’s the product of 3+ years hope you fully immersed yourself🤣🙏
as far as advice, i have answered asks about this before under the *advice or *tips tags, but i can add some here, too:
start posting small: i started writing just tiny spice scenes, some even like 2-3 sentences haha. and i did post them! they’re floating around somewhere if you look hard enough. the point is warm yourself up and get used to posting, getting used to using the Create Post menu. atp, who cares who sees it. the point is to get used to the feeling of sharing things and letting them be
practice with prompts: find a prompt list post and pick which ones you wanna try. it can be based off one-liners, tropes, reverse tropes, or just single words. go wherever your brain takes you and don’t think too hard at first.
editing is your best friend: your first draft? is gonna be a mess lmfao. but that’s normal, and the whole point is get all the ideas in your head on the page. when you’re done, you can then go in and clean up shop and make things flow with the editing process.
learn on the go and write down things you wanna try or random things you think of: if you aren’t sure how to write smut, read it haha. or watch it if you’re into that. you’re gonna find things that are like “oh that’s fun” or “hmm wait this could be cool to try” and then try your own spin on it.
write to your spice level: there’s many ways to write spice, and you don’t even need to go into super graphic detail. i’ve seen plenty of stories that are just as hot without going into too much detail when it comes to the smut scenes. whatever your comfort level, you’re gonna attract a similar audience, so you don’t have to force more than what you’re comfy writing.
you’re not gonna please everyone: and that’s okay! you write for yourself, and then you write for your audience. and everyone’s audience is different from the next. tbh that’s super freeing to know because you don’t stress about trying to appeal to every single person on the planet haha
share your creative process: be yourself, post writing updates, post fun lore, post whatever gets you excited so that people can see that as much as your stories. offer teasers, a tag list, etc. the more involved you are, the more people will come across those posts and turn into being invested with you. then on the drop days, you’ll already have an awaiting group of readers!
that’s what i have for now. but i love talking about this and sharing what i’ve learned, so ask away if you wanna know anything else!
Hi, how was your day so far? :) I love looking at bujos but I feel intimidated to start one and afraid I might ruin it. I would like to try it though. But I mostly depend on dated planners. Is it weird if i use my planner and try a bujo? I’m confusing myself, LOL!
hi, lovely!! my day has been quite lazy but relaxing; thank you for asking!!
i think you could definitely do both! i keep a planner in my wallet and write down all my events, then transfer them “prettily” into my bujo 💓
you can use a bujo and a planner! you can write bullet points in your planner! do what works for you and rock it 💓 it doesn’t have to be perfect!! (have you seen my old bujos? they were far from perfect!) 🥰
