thinking writing stuff.

tackling some subjects, specifically trans and race, is a difficult thing for me, despite being hispanic, and trying to understand trans identity.

not every person has the same experience, so whether i do a good job writing it could be subjective, no matter how much i try to study and understand people of all sorts. i mostly write fluff and stuff, and adventure and romance, and just people with complicated lives dealing with their complicated matters as best as they can.

but i dont want to subconsciously do something that would cause a major outrage. growing up the way i did, some slang is rather common, and some phrases as well. for example, im often called caramel skin by my sister, which i see as an endearing phrase and compliment, but its not exactly a good thing for others to have their skin compared to food and sweets for different reasons.

so i will keep that out of my stories, and just hope i can write about a person skin color and background well.

same goes for gender identity.

and other things i have not talked about yet, such as disabilities.

#blah blah blabbity blah #truth be told funger 2 really wrote some good characters #who just happen to be trying their best in a difficult situation #which is an understatement #while also carrying their own person baggage.#or are just complete assholes.#anyway it just got me thinking about how i tackle some things in my stories #and what i want to improve on.#im always up to learning but i will make mistakes and won't everyone happy.#thats fine. ive been on the unhappy side myself in media too.#hence why a lot of my characters are hispanic/latin american if not based on that ethnicity.#so yeah.#just thinking really.#:thinking:#i did write of a trans character before tho and had plans for others.#osiris is ftm.#seth is possible genderfluid but he sticks to a male form mostly. he is not human tho so yeah.#i had an idea of a mtf person that is the head of a large army in one of my stories #but never explored her fully.#its always an idea i wanted to try #but i dont feel confident.#ill try still tho.

huh... yknow, i used to feel so embarrassed over my writings, and still kind of cringe at them even now, but tbh, i think that thinking, “Not great; Can do better,” is probably the best way to look at it, instead of shaming myself out of writing. every mistake i see, is just another thing i have to learn.

I wonder how much of my oc stuff is just a self insert, and how much are they their own character? The answer is... Well. It varies.

But that said, I have been taking a peak at the yume community and I see that there a lot of love there that I respect. I grew up doing that sort of thing, exploring different ideas and concepts through writing self inserts and the likes.

It also helped me learn to accept myself in ways I haven't thought of either. Cap was the biggest one when I was recovering from cancer and the likes. I used her as an expression of some parts of me that I wish I was more like.

Anyway, I do love me some oc x canon, and I'm glad people do self indulge themselves in a way, as long as it's healthy and safe ofc.

I have such dumb attraction to certain types of people. One specifically is how tall they are, while I’m literally 4’11. Everyone is tall to me. Heh. But I like what I like, even if it is shallow.

oc thoughts.

cat is way too accepting of things as they are in the valley. its how she becomes buddy buddy with hh. and i think thats honestly funny of her. to me, its because she has been through enough to accept things as they are now.

#blah blah blabbity blah #just thinking really.#because like ive seen a lot of artists portray a more violent protag which is fine.#but i am the one person who is willing to not do that.#and just made the two have a amicable - borderline romantic - relationship.#hahaha~.#there is no wrong way i think.#its just funny to me.

if i was a little more self-confident in my writings, and i wouldnt get in legal trouble for it, id do comms for others. i think it would also help me get more out of my comfort zone too.

something im always thinking about: why purely hate on something? why continue to stomp on it with so much spite? isnt it better to use that energy for something else? like, something that you like instead of whatever you dislike. it feels like a waste of time otherwise... but i guess its not so bad to vent about it. but some people who just hate for the sake of hating doesnt vibe well with me. eh.
