trick or treat <3

callie, sol, and calder once went to a bahumoween (i’ve committed to this word apparently) party at mothership all in matching outfits without intending to. it was the first time they actually hung out as work buds and laid the groundwork for us seeing them become real friends later. they were all ducks or something, it was a very mundane outfit.

I said it before in my Jaina hcs post, but I do think she makes sure that the details of Hardwon’s involvement in Gemma’s death go undocumented in hopes they are eventually forgotten. She does it for him, because he’ll never forget that, and for Gemma, because she never would have wanted Hardwon to be hated.

When they were kids, before Thiala and even before Hardwon and Gemma became a thing, Jaina respected him. Never could quite bring herself to hate him. They were workout buddies for a while, but at a distance. Since the idea is that Hardwon and Gemma went to school together, I think Jaina was there, too, and that the two of them would tend to get way too serious about things like freeze tag.

Hardwon goes out of his way to make sure he invites Jaina to things. If the boobs go clubbing in Irondeep, random weddings, Paw Paw’s birthday party, whatever. He just really likes to spend time with her, and she likes to spend time with him. They don’t always have the opportunity, but they do always have fun.

On the astral, when Jaina is there, they have this uncanny way of knowing where each other is in battle always. They’re able to do strange combos that no one quite knows if they practiced, but the enemies tend to give them a wide berth by the end of fights.

This is a dumb separate hc I have but I wanted to include it here: in every dwarven city, when they are about to crown a new ruler, they have to reach out to Hardwon and offer him the crown because he’s in possession of the Godshammer (the hammer chooses the king, not the people). Whenever Jaina asks he takes his sweet fucking time sending a response.

feel like i saw you say that sokka would be jealous at a rasu/zuko reunion which, fair, but i think it’d be funny if they all met up and sokka’s like damn he’s kind of cute and zuko’s like i know. a shared crush situation if you will

it’s a little bit a topic i’ve explored before via an incredibly brief conversation in this fic but i think it’s probably a long conversation they had. or a lot of long conversations they had. where they thought a Lot about going to get him but knew that pushing him had already led him to run away and pushing harder might mean losing him completely. that meemaw is the right person for the job of getting him back and that she won’t let him wallow too much. but that they have to wait. they really may just have to wait.

just like a deep understanding that can only come from centuries of working together while also attempting to not fall apart. good times. (a lot of these are gonna be kinda terribly sad lmao)
