Jangmi is really honest, even if it's awkward or inconvenient to be. She has a hard time even doing little white lies; she's very blunt and will tell you like it is. Also, she potentially wants to be a lawyer (she's still on the fence about it), so it would be unethical to be deceptive. Plenty of lawyers are, but that's not who she wants to be. (Plus she believes that if she works hard and gives it her all, she won't need to be deceptive to win a case.) The only situation I can really see her lying to achieve a specific outcome is like... if someone is on top of a roof holding a hostage, threatening to jump with them, she might tell them they won't be in trouble if they just come away from the edge. Something to save the hostage. Basically only if she figures it will do the Most Good™, from her perspective.
