Depends on your relationship I guess but there shouldn't be a reason they're against it. Just politely say your availability is changing bc of another job, submit a form, and you should be switched to mornings in a week or two.

Basically what sailor-rhys said. As long as your reasoning isn’t “I just don’t like working nights here lmao fuck u”, which it isn’t, your manager/boss should accommodate the request fairly easily.

I might not even say "because of another job;" just that your availability is changing and that morning shifts are where your open hours are. Depending on the culture/company, they may or may not be able to accommodate it, but most good supervisors will at least try.
Thank you, everyone, for the advice!!! It helps a lot. I work for a very small nonprofit, but the important thing is I’ve only been working for like 2 or 3 weeks. So I’m just slightly disinclined to ask for anything. I think going with the “my availability has changed” is the best bet, even tho it chafes my people-pleasing self to not be like “yes please use me to fill in all the spaces between other older employees, I am at your disposal always.”
You guys have given me the courage to submit the request at all, so seriously, thank you!!!
