I am not excited for the MCU X-Men
Considering everything that has been going on with the MCU lately, I am not excited for what they have in story with the Mutants and the X-Men movie they have in store. Marvel has been completely spineless when it comes to political and social commentary, especially with how Brave New World turned out. I doubt they are willing to do something radical without upsetting a certain crowd of people, and thus would have to sanitize the story to make it as marketable as possible.
Also, considering that Jake Schreier is directing the movie, it makes me less optimistic about the prospect of seeing the MCU X-Men. Considering how Schreier handled Taskmaster by killing her off and believing that it would add stakes to the story, basically undermining the entire theme about redemption and mental health, I am not interested in seeing what Jake has in store for the X-Men. Though I do love Thunderbolts, some of the writing felt lackluster with how Ghost had nothing to do, basically sidelining their only POC character. Considering what was originally in store for Ava with her friendship with Ghost, I have no doubt he would try and sideline any major character like Storm, though that might just be speculation on my part, which is supported by nothing but how he handled Ghost by giving her nothing to do. Actually, I just learned recently that the reason Jake killed her off is because he didn’t want people to get attached to her because it would overshadow the core focus on Yelena and Bob’s story which is stupid as hell. I can just imagine that he would kill off Storm or any other X-Men for cheap value because focusing on other characters would undermine and overshadow the story of Scott and Jean.
Also, considering how Marvel has been adamant about not reading comic books, with some screenwriters outright admitting they didn't read the comics or do any research when writing the shows (hell, the showrunner for Secret Invasion was told by Feige not to read the books and Nate Moore saying that being a comic fan is a red flag) I have no faith Marvel is gonna do the X-Men justice.
Some might say that the X-Men are hard to do, but that really depends, because it's easy to do the X-Men justice. Hell, I've seen some fan pre-writes (mostly Troyoboyo's pre-write on the X-Men) tackle how to introduce the X-Men into the MCU, and he proves that doing the X-Men justice is easy. You just need to get someone who gets the comics and is interested in adapting the X-Men books, or just get a comic book writer to tackle it.
Additionally, another concern is that some writers for the MCU X-Men may attempt to alter certain aspects, such as removing Magneto's origin and connection to the Holocaust. No joke, some people genuinely think that because we are moving far away from the holocaust that it might be impossible to tie Magneto back to the holocaust. This is a bad idea because that removes everything that makes the character interesting, and trying to replace his origin with another genocide feels disrespectful because it treats mass tragedies like that as interchangeable when they're not.
Additionally, there has been a rumor that Tramell Tillman's character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day will play the head of Damage Control, hunting down a Meta-Human who is Sadie Sink's character. Reminder that this rumor is from Cosmic Circus, so it might be a lie, but I saw someone theorize that he might be playing William Stryker, which is an idea that is fucking awful. Stryker is a reverend televangelist, making him another military commander, which sounds lame. Though I have a feeling Marvel might be heading down that direction for the character because why adapt God Loves Man Kills when you can just pander to 2000s nostalgia slop and make it Stryker.
Also, there are some fans who speculate that with Tiamut being harvested for Adamantium that it might lead to Wolverine's origin. This is just a theory, but I hate it because how the hell are you gonna do Wolverine's amnesia storyline if his origin happens so recently in the timeline? This might just be me complaining about dumb fan theories and headcannons, but I think you guys get my point.
Still not interested to see where the MCU takes or does with the X-Men because it feels like they are just gonna miss the point and do them dirty once more.
What if the Song "Voltes V no Uta" Appears in Marvel's Thunderbolts?
This is how Thunderbolts* should have been with that song, consider this as an easter egg if you wish.
In New York City, a beat-up rented panel truck, a ghost, drives through late-night traffic amidst the city's neon glow. Bucky Barnes, a soldier, is driving the rig, his vibranium arm contrasting with the worn-out dashboard. The truck's radio speakers play the powerful instrumental version of "Voltes V no Uta," a soaring, heroic, and optimistic anthem. Lost in a reverie of past glories, Red Guardian [Alexei Shostakov] commandeered the passenger seat with a booming rendition of the song, his every movement infused with the swagger of his Soviet heyday.
The cargo area is a chaotic tableau of high-tech weaponry, tactical gear, and simmering personalities. Yelena Belova, the one who feeds the guinea pig, sits cross-legged on Kevlar vests, while John Walker, the U.S. Agent, sharpens a combat knife against his shield. Yelena mocks John, claiming he has no appreciation for art and that Cucumber, a small guinea pig, deserves a triumphant ballad. Meanwhile, Fanny, Yelena's pet dog, softly barks at John by mocking him.
In the corner, Ghost [Ava Starr] is a quiet specter, while Taskmaster [Antonia Dreykov] sits perfectly still, mimicking John's knife-sharpening motion. A flash of pure white fur moves through the shadows, and Alpine, a CGI Angora cat with piercing blue eyes, leaps onto a stack of ammo crates. Bucky glances in the rearview mirror, and Yelena tells him not to worry.
The only sounds are the rain, the truck's engine, and the soaring melody of "Voltes V." Alpine drops down, curling up on the center console, and Bucky gently scratches behind her ears. As they exit the freeway and head directly toward the Watchtower, the music swells to its triumphant climax.
And I swear, when it comes to Voltes V: Legacy English dub, they need actors Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, and Zoë Saldaña to sing the opening theme song!
