I hope none of you have already forgotten about Gregory Johnson Jr. The fight still continues, and justice still has not been served. Even if you are not an @sjsu student, you should be aware of this case, especially if you are a college student. Greek life is one of the most racist institutions in our education system. Most of the traditional prestigious fraternities and sororities are still majority white and many will act racist towards BIPOC members. The colleges project that. Gregory Johnson Jr. was a black member of SJSU’s Sigma Chi, a majority white fraternity with a history and reputation of racism. He was found dead in their basement hanging, and it was ruled a suicide by SJSU and the police. He had a crack on his head oozing brain matter, and no evidence of death ligature hanging on his neck. Nobody has been investigated, arrested, or charged 12 years later.
