My honest opinion is that most of the people who talk about punching Nazis or killing pedophiles or whatever don’t really care about helping people and that’s why they focus on hurting perpetrators over helping victims. Many of them just want to be/pretend to be violent and use an acceptable target so it won’t have social repercussions. It’s why many of the people who say “punch Nazis” didn’t vote in the 2024 US election and many are antisemetic.

Just saw a post where the op said “free palestine fuck Israel” and then immediately used the n-word to derogate black people who are pro Israel and voiced support for Hitler in the comments. When we say that anti-semitism transcends the political compass this is what we mean(also I believe that while the core conflict of the 20th century was left vs right the core conflict of the 21st century will be moderates vs extremists with little to no left-right division but that’s just me)

It’s only been out for 9 and a half hours and I can already tell that all the valid criticisms of Deltarune 5 will be drowned out by people mad that their preferred ships aren’t gonna be canon.

I can’t help but feel as if Toby focused more on getting funny and hype moments for the fandom this chapter than on actually continuing the narrative that was set up. Suselle being canon is cool, Rudy’s cliffhanger is exciting, opening the chapter with confirmation Asriel was in love with Dess is entertaining, more evidence for Tralsei is…there. But what happened to the mystery of Undyne’s kidnapping(seriously how is no one worried about her, this town only has like 50 people in it and she’s been gone for 2 days with no explanation)? What happened to Susie being worried about the final tragedy? What was going on with the Gast-Narrator talking about “My Deltarune”? Nope gotta skip all that so Susie can have a cute date with Noelle and Tenna can have some funny lines now. No time for the story that was being told.

The more I think about it the crazier it is that this was supposed to be released at the same time as 3 and 4, imagine playing through those and doing 5 immediately after, it’s the ultimate tonal whiplash. This is just the month of Indie creator letdowns I suppose.

Genuinely can someone explain to me how Universal Basic Income could function across an entire society without destroying the economy and the treasury. I see so many people in support of it here but they just point out that it’s worked well in small scale short timeframe experiments and don’t say anything about how it would actually effect the economy if an entire country had a ubi program in perpetuity. How will this not cause inflation. How can the government afford this logically? I’m not saying it’s impossible, I just want advocates to explain these things because I haven’t seen them do so and they seem like pretty big damn issues.

Tbh I’m thinking about making a Passover April Fools Joke where I pretend blood libel is real and talk about harvesting Christian baby blood but I feel like it wouldn’t be in the best taste considering the world rn. Lmk what you think.

I do not trust anyone who views bigots as a separate class of being they could never be a part of. Bigotry is to some extent an inherent instinct of humans. It’s a bad instinct we need to strive against but an instinct nonetheless. Anyone saying they can never understand bigots is a sign they have unexamined bigotries because they refuse to recognize negative traits in themselves.

Knowing far leftists and the way they cheer on the most oppressive shit in places like China and Russia, if Israel had ended up being a socialist state as was almost the case and which led the USSR to support them originally, most of them would be defending it harder then the most hardcore Zionists and calling for them to kill more Palestinians.
