Well, tonight I have taken a step in further understanding the abilities I have worked so hard to gain. After a long and rather ridiculous process, I have gotten to where I wanted. I have raised someone from the dead. Now, research has shown that summoning a person from the dead itself is not in itself as difficult as one was led to believe. Physically reviving a body is...somewhat draining, but the flaws in this summoning are...tremendous.
Deciding it was best to tread carefully, I opted for summoning an insignificant girl who was murdered on her wedding day. I needed someone who would not be powerful enough to resist me if their thoughts turned against me. Which would certainly be likely if I asked them to do something that went against their nature. But for this experiment...we did not have such a problem. In fact, the results were...terribly disappointing.
I had collected all that I might need to summon someone from the dead: their body, a still functioning brain that I had put a spell on to make sure it stayed that way, blood from a suitable donor, a heart, the first basic ingredients. Then he procured the thought of living from one who had experienced a great deal, and the memory of one’s life from someone who was at death’s door. Naturally I was not one hundred percent sure on what I would need.
Finding the information I desired on necromancy was....quite difficult. So in the end we must go with a test and guess theory until we are successful. For the first time I worked with the blood, the brain, all the ingredients I had and the body I had stolen into a complex spell that brought darkness to me. It was the most exhilarating experience of my life so far. It took a good amount of time for the spell to work its way through the summoned body.
Once it had, I stepped closer to find...a flaw in that which I had just attempted. When I looked on the girl, there was...nothing in her eyes. No presence, no movement. She stood, but it was clear that that was only because of the spell. I tried to see if she would react to things: touching her, kissing her, stabbing her. I had to figure out what went wrong of course.
The fact was that though I stabbed her, the blood I had used did not seep from the wound. She was still very much dead despite what I had attempted. There was no brain function, though the body did, for reasons unknown to me, breath as if it were alive. How this particular experiment went in such a way was...bewildering to say the least. I ended the spell moments later and let the girl’s lifeless body collapse again. The first attempt was a failure.
I must note what went well, and what I think I might need to try in order to increase my chance at success. I will also see if I can look into more books on the art of necromancy. Though I do consider myself one of a kind, I know I am not the first to try this dark magick. I will simply be the most successful. I have returned the body to her grave, and am now on my way to Eastern Europe to follow up a lead there. I will get better results in due time.
