this might come off kinda rude and i apologize, but if you went to japan following those myths, i don’t think you did a lot of research on japan. It is an incredibly dense country, they dont have much option for things because of their environment and spacing. tourism is also a huge thing, and theyre heavily xenophobic. Going to japan and expecting to be treated like you lived there is not going to happen period. im sorry you didnt enjoy your trip though.

also the trains— not to be rude again or anything, but if you did research, youd learn that talking loudly on trains in japan is heavily rude and disrespectful. for the comfort of others, youre suppose to quietly sit and read, instead of talk on the phone or engage in obvious conversation. if you have the need to talk though, you do so in a low voice as to not disturb others. its just general politeness and how they do things.

You don’t need to do research it’s shot at you at every step in the metro that you’re not supposed to even breathe on the train. Why did the Japanese people enjoy chatting and laughing with each other so much, disobeying their own rules when we were talking then? Hmmmm???!!!!
