i want an essay by someone who's watched every episode (not me) on how spongebob's feelings and behavior towards squidward morph over the years bc i thought his little crush/obsession with squidward popped up out of nowhere a few seasons in, but then i remembered little instances that happened earlier that may imply those feelings might have always been there but were more subtle. such as spongebob's "prized" driftwood carving of squidward (why did he have that?) or his emotional reaction to squidward giving him his shirt, saying he's always loved it and can break a promise for it. idk i'm thinking about it...
