Stepping through their front door, Jen headed straight for their bedroom, heels clicking loudly against the tiled floor.  She knew tonight was a bad idea, but he had been the one to insist on dinner with her childhood friend and ex-lover.  Pushing open the doors to their walk in closet she took a deep breath, huffing it out as she kicked off the patent shoes and moved to take off her jewellery.  She was embarrassed, angry, and just generally at a loss for words, which was unusual for the lawyer.

It had been a long day at the office, which wasn’t entirely unusual for the lawyer, what was unusual was her visitor sat in the shadows when she arrived home that evening.  Setting her purse and keys down she crossed her arms over her chest before stepping further into her lounge. “You know, most people would call or knock first.”
