3888 Following All my adult life I have lived cafe culture. I love coffee and i love small talk while drinking coffee. My life got too busy for me to hang out in coffee shops everyday. I joined instagram about a year and a half ago, with the hope of recovering that sense of connection with the other locals in the cowichan valley and Vancouver Island. Having had a lot of crazy success on other social media platforms as an artist, instagram was to be about the people who share, what i consider, to be the best place in the world. Following 3888 people is my balance. My dashboard is full of people i might just strike up a conversation with about life, full of surprises and diverse but following any more and my stream gets too chaotic for me. Just like hanging out at cafes, instagram. So everytime i decide i want to follow someone new, i have to unfollow somebody. It's interesting and challenging, full of wonderful and enriching people that make me feel like i belong. What a wonderful place to cocoon and become a folk musician. Friendship Pole Winter's Darkness Solitude of Ice & Snow I show my respect everywhere. I have lived in more than half of the communities of the Cowichan Valley. Slowly my love and connection to this place on earth funneled me to the city in the center of the valley. First Thanksgiving holiday alone in decades. Not only was i alone but not one human even spoke to me, except to refuse service at the brew pub, nobody asked me about my plans or invited to be apart of theirs. I found out it was thanksgiving on saturday. With this knowledge that nobody on earth cares about me, i sat down in the shadows and played to blues through tear soaked eyes. Then slowly a little square of sunlight crept up on me, i was warm, i was inspired and i was having a real epiphany Thanksgiving moment. (And i caught it on video) Thanks universe. I'm going to learn how to play some jazz for the christmas holidays <3 P.S.
