Carol lands with a thud on the hard ground in front of the barriers of Haven. She had heard about this place, flying around and asking survivors led her right to their doorstep. She could only hope that Jessica was here.. it was an anxious feeling in the back of her throat. It wasn’t meant to be her priority, exactly, she was here to help survivors, but it would definitely be a bonus. Not coming back to see her before all this shit happened was one of her biggest regrets, and she kicked herself every day for it. If Jess had survived (and if Carol knew her in any way, she knew that she would), she would be here, waiting for her.
She didn’t have to wait long, thank god. Once Carol landed and removed her helmet, smoothing down her hair and heading for the doors of the barrier, she saw a familiar swirl of hair and heard a familiar voice hit her ears. After the shit she’d seen, the destroyed homes and destroyed families, it was like music to her fucking ears. Carol’s shoulders soften and any worry about not being welcomed is gone, and she takes off jogging towards the barriers.
“Jess?” She calls out as she heads for the barrier, expecting disappointment (after all, how many times up in space did she think to herself that she’d heard Jess’ voice?). To her joy, she got the exact opposite. “Jess!”
