i personally think that reformatted k-class frames would be bare-bones in every way imaginable. they are meant to be disposable, but effective. you don't design a bomb and think about its appearance or the sustainability or if the material will degrade and rust years after its detonation. and with that being said i think the k-class is no different. you don't want to dehumanize your troops, of course. so you keep the processor. the memories. the ability to drink energon and function without too much discomfort until your ship date. but there is a clear expiry date on that body, an understanding that you as a k-con are not here to live a full cybertronian's life in this frame. you are nothing more than a sentient crash test dummy. what about those extra modules? the things they take for granted? interface equipment. dexterity of one's fingers. the complex neural network that allows for recognizing the full spectrum of touch and senses. these are as useful to a k-con as the leftover kibble from their past life.
