John Berger, from And Our Faces, My Heart, Brief As Photos (1984)
I am begging you, please do yourself a favour and read this book. Berger's writing is like a peaceful, quiet morning sitting in the porch savouring the gentle breeze with a warm cup of coffee and nothing to do for the rest of the day. It puts my heart at ease.
This particular fragment I find myself going back to often, I even cry a little at how tender this is.
July reads! yeah this is a cry for help anyway:
Fave: the battle drum or Nevada
Least fave: strange and stubborn endurance
