Hey! About the Raincode: MDA OC’s, I’m going to introduce you to mine! Their name’s Rui Devereaux, and are part of a secretive group in Kanai Ward (called the “specialists”) made up of people who have forte’s but are not/cannot be trained into forensic forte’s. They work as a freelance detective in Kanai Ward, taking on cases anonymously and being known as the green-jacket detective.

Forte:

Their forte is called ‘Internal Paralysis’ and works by paralyzing someone by flashing an image of their most traumatic event in the person’s life, causing them to be paralyzed out of pure fear. Her side effect is that they are shown their own traumatic thing. Due to this side-effect of their forte (and upbringing,) they are generally blunt and stoic, not showing much emotion regardless of the situation.

Physical Appearance:

I dont have a drawing of them I can show for this, but I’ll give a brief description of their appearance. They have short, light green hair + eyes and take on a slight feminine appearance, but nobody knows their gender. They wear a white blouse and a green jacket over it, along with high-waisted grey trousers and black combat boots. Rui’s accessories exist of a green tie with the Amaterasu logo on it (despite not affiliating with Amaterasu), wind-chime like earrings, black fingerless gloves that go up to their elbows, keychains clipped to their belt, and a necklace with the initials “NU” on it.

More about their profession:

Rui’s a freelance detective who commonly goes by “Vert(e)” for detective work, but gaining the nickname “the green-jacket detective” due to their attire. Unlike the Nocturnal Detective Agency, their presence (as a detective) is unknown to Amaterasu as they barely cause a ruckus (Also citizens of Kanai Ward keep secrets). They originally worked as a Forensic Scientist, but quit shortly after an “incident” happened at their work. They moved to Kanai Ward with their sister, (Ambre Devereaux) who was murdered shortly after arriving, causing Rui to want to become a detective.

Extra Details:

-They’re originally French (if you couldn’t tell)

-They speak several languages, French being native,

-They have a sister, brother, father, mother and dog,

-Rui isn’t their birth name!

-Rui was out of the Ward whilst the blank week mystery happened (this is when their sister was killed, they are unaware of that and still try to find her murderer.)

-They’ll occasionally leave some meat buns outside the agency for Yakou, with a note saying “-from Vert(e)”

-Besides the Specialists, everybody in Kanai Ward believes Rui and “The green-jacket detective” are different people (Rui doesn’t wear their jacket when generally outside.)

-Someone in the Specialists works as a technician for Amaterau!

I like their story, and from what I can imagine, their design is interesting too! I like the idea of a secret group, there's probably so many around Kanai Ward. That's a super unique forte they have, sounds horrific to use. I'm sure if they were properly trained they would be so OP! If you draw an official design, I would love to see it!
