i am back, my friends! i was grounded for a while and didn’t have my laptop or phone....i was like TT every day because i couldn’t even talk to my friends or keep up with my favorite companies.....but it seems like i’ve missed a lot of developments, so i’m here to lay down my thoughts! i’ll mostly be talking about luxe and convex and everything that’s happened with them recently because....wow, what a mess, right?
first, i’m actually going to talk about something that’s not a new development, but that i haven’t really had a chance to say yet. you all know i’m not a huge luxe fan, right? i’ve never cared for their music, i didn’t like the original lineup ( chaeyoung deserved to be in the group, so jisub’s just a coward!! and yubin deserves debut more than anyone, but hopefully she’ll find a better one under trc ) and their songs aren’t really my thing.
BUT!!! after having zoe around for a while and rewatching her cuts from royal survival, i’ve realized that i’m kind of in love with her....she’s so pretty and talented, and i don’t know why they didn’t put her in luxe from the beginning! it’s still kind of weird that they replaced two singers with a dancer, but i can’t help but support zoe! even if i still think luxe will flop, i hope she’ll do well!
you have no idea how much random fangirling i had to delete from those paragraphs. i could go on and on about how much i love zoe. the other girls? not so much.
on to the new tea!
now, i knew romeo was kicked from convex ( and i spent my entire grounded time mourning his loss TT ), but apparently k.i posted something about facetiming with luxe’s cheri? RIGHT AFTER ROMEO WAS KICKED OUT FOR DATING? seriously, mimi’s right, it’s like he’s trying to show rome how it’s done and openly reveal he’s got a girlfriend......even if they’re not dating ( which, ok, they probably are, i mean how many years did they even spend in royal together? like ten? ) it seriously looks like they are, which is so bad for both of their groups....i hope sphere is teaching him how to use sns properly, but after being public for so long he should know by now, really.
in other news ( and maybe this is happier news if you’re a convex stan, which i am not ), convex had a vlive! i didn’t watch the whole thing, instead i kind of skimmed through it and watched the entertaining parts. i didn’t expect more than ten minutes or so to be entertaining, but i actually watched over an hour of it. what can i say, hyun makes a good mc! and the boys’ personal talents were mostly interesting. it was definitely new to see jace zipped into a suitcase! and wow, i had no idea hyun was that strong.....he might actually be one of my new biases, ready to fill the void romeo left behind. he and lay will have to fight for it!
and prhyme is the hip hop unit’s new leader! i’m glad they didn’t replace romeo with another sphere trainee like royal did ( though like i said zoe goes above and beyond expectations for me ), but i hope they can still carry their strong rap with only three members in the unit. but i can’t help but hope they do well, prhyme seems really cute off stage and on stage he’s got such good charisma while he raps! i can’t wait to see more from him.
i think i’m caught up now.....as far as luxe’s comeback goes, the title song is nothing special ( except for zoe, of course ). “every night” is pretty good for a b-side, i wonder why they didn’t promote that one instead since it’s way better lmao. convex also teased a comeback in the vlive, but i’m not gonna hold out hope that i’ll like it any more than mansae.

to everyone: what kind of survival show concepts would you like to see?
KATIE: i’m not so good at talking about survival show ideas….i’m not that creative!! i really like most survival shows, though i guess i kind of prefer ones like the mgas that give us looks at new faces! and i really loved the inclusion of the coaches on season three, why didn’t they bring it back for season four….i’m like TT…..but i didn’t really follow royal survival and i’m not super interested in luxe? but maybe that’s just because i’m not a royal stan….if nova did something like that i’d probably be all over it, so i guess i’m not actually that picky!
CELESTE: personally, i’d love to see something more aligned with mga s1 and s2, but i LOVE the concept of mixnine and the produce shows. also… hit the stage? in the form of survival? please?? another show type i’d love to see is a bootcamp style. the only thing i can compare it to at first thought is boot camp babes but… idol themed obviously hahaha. it would be great to see the personal growth that a person would go through under a kpop bootcamp style show.

VICKI: survival shows make me cry!!! do i still watch them though? ...sometimes. honestly the only thing that could get me to watch another show now would be if i knew some of the contestants in it beforehand... anything with the public trainees i think i could try to watch. i don’t know exactly what concept though... can we get a concept where no one is eliminated???

oh, nice, a good trainee question! and pretty much all the samsung companies’ trainees are public now after the jeju show, right? unless they’ve done some signings since then, but it seems a little fast.....anyway, let’s get started and do this by company!
i’ll start with the two that i don’t really follow that much -- royal and sphere. i used to like sphere a lot, but convex’s debut was catchy but...overall disappointing to me. plus, baek jiyoung just ousted one of my biases from the group, so i am NOT happy with her right now. anyway, onto sphere’s trainees!
one of the first that comes to mind is sunyoung. she goes by luna, though, right? she was super fun on the mgas both as a contestant and a coach, and she’s always really great to watch on stage! she’s a talented dancer, too, and i wish she was given one of those center parts during sphere’s stage. speaking of dancers, though, seulgi and jeongguk both caught my eye! i hadn’t really paid attention to seulgi before now, and i thought jeongguk was cute on the mgas, but when did he sign with sphere? anyway, they were both amazing on stage!
in royal, i like wonwoo because he was really cute on the mgas! i’m glad he got some screentime at the end. he seems like he’s really soft and sweet, but he could also pull off the stronger concepts that i like! mingyu and yoongi were also both picks of mine on the mgas, and i’m glad they ended up in royal! for the girls, i really like chaeyong...or is it rose? whichever it is, she’s awesome! i don’t know why she didn’t make it into luxe when she’s clearly got the vocal support they need after losing two VOCALISTS.....come on so jisub, how can you replace vocalists with a dancer? it just doesn’t make sense....rose would have been perfect for zoe’s spot! she suits the concept and has the vocal ability. too bad she’s in a company under someone who clearly doesn’t know what he’s doing sometimes
now on to my favorites! for kt, there’s a bunch of ktrookies i’m excited for! from the old bunch, i really liked addae -- he’s got a nice boyfriend vibe to him. and i love taemin too, though i mostly just feel bad for the guy....again, why didn’t he get a center part in jeju? katie lee, we may share a name, but clearly we don’t share opinions.....but onto the newer ktrookies round! and oh. my. GOD. is it great so far. have you seen jino’s teaser? he’s so HOT!! he’s EXACTLY my type, and oh my god, i lose my mind every time i watch it. i used this answer as an excuse to go watch it again, tbh. i also really like johnny and luda, because she was really cute on the mgas and her teaser was really pretty.
trc time! honestly, i’m a little sad they’re debuting a girl group first (my poor youngjae....hopefully they’ll let you out of the dungeon soon!) but they do have some pretty amazing girls so i’m sure trc’s new girl group will be able to blow luxe and eclipse away with how amazing and powerful they are! yubin, for one, has GOT to be in it. she’s been in the company for how long now? seriously, DEBUT THIS GIRL! she went through two whole survival shows! then there’s yujin, sooyoung, and that’s not even counting the mga winners! doyeon and jinsoul, you girls come for my heart every day! and in the guys department, obviously i love and support youngjae, but yuta really caught my eye on stage! i know they were all focused on the girls and the djing, but yuta just seems really handsome to me!
i saved the best for last.....the one and only nova. honestly, i don’t even know how to answer this question for nova. there really isn’t a trainee that i don’t love! haknyeon definitely deserved to win first place in the mgas and you can fight me on that -- he deserves the entire world and more okay. jungwoo did NOT deserve that disrespect at the mga3 finale, and i’m glad he ended up in nova again anyway. the boy was made to be one of nova’s golden vocals, okay? sunmi has been there for who knows how long -- she jumped ship from sphere before the samsung merger was even a thing, remember? poor thing’s been waiting forever. but maybe not even as long as poor ricky, who i also love with my whole heart. seungwan from mga3 also has talent that’s nothing to laugh at, too. ugh, i hope hyun bin does something with my kids soon! i can’t wait for nova to blow everyone else out of the water when they finally debut these trainees!
