For anyone curious, I will be taking Korra to K9 Connection’s facility in Buffalo, NY for behavior rehabilitation sometime within the next year. She is dog leash-reactive and selective dog aggressive; it is fear based and possibly due to poor socialization as a pup(I don’t know what happened to her in her life, but I can guess it could be from spending all that time in a kennel environment with other reactive dogs).
I have done all I can for her with the knowledge I have, and have put so much time and effort into making sure she gets what she needs. She has come a long way since I adopted her, but I can admit now that her issues are beyond my level of skill. Korra is not living life like a normal dog, and all I want is for her to be comfortable and happy. I’ve heard fantastic things about these trainers and have seen documented results from their amazing work.It will be worth the time, money, and 3 1/2-41/2 hour drive if they can help Korra they way I cannot. She will most likely stay for the 4 week long Doggy Bootcamp, as it is called, since we have to travel a good distance to get to his facility.
check out connectwithyourk9.com if you are interested in dog obedience or have a dog problem of your own. The trainers there seem to be really amazing.
