My Sunday project. Believe it or not, putting this up in our family room was my wife’s idea. She noticed I kept my collection of Curio and Relic World War 2 rifles scattered in various gun cases around the house and she said I should properly display them now that the kids are adults. From top to bottom, an ex-Dragoon Mosin Nagant, a 1942 Savage Enfield No4 Mk1*, a 1942 M1 Garand, a 1943 BYF K98k, and a Type 99 Arisaka.

I bought some WWII-era 8mm Mauser the other day and it arrived today!

Four boxes have these labels:

And these stamps on the bottom:

The other four boxes have this label:

Two of them have this stamp on the bottom:

And the other two have this stamp on the inside flap:

So as you can see something went wrong with the aesthetic by 1939/1940.

The three different kinds of boxes have two different loads in them.

The later boxes are headstamped S* 2 40 P163 and the earlier S* 3 37 P120, meaning 72% copper brass alloy, Lot 2, 1940, Metallwarenfabrik Treuenbritzen GmbH, Werk Selterhof and 72% copper brass alloy, Lot 3, 1937, Dynamit A.G., vormals Alfred Nobel & Co., Werk Hannover-Empelde respectively
