Do we think George is being pissy because he’s now genuinly scared he won’t be able to do it? 👀 It’s race two, Kimi’s outdriven him and gotten a grand slam, and George potentially has to come to terms with not being able to walk this championship ….
That being said, well done to Kimi! Very good job by him today.
I think that's exactly what it is, which is objectively hilarious. We saw it last weekend as well, with George accusing Charles of driving dangerously for *checks notes* cleanly overtaking him.
It'll be interesting to see how George handles the pressure because it’s not looking good so far, and we're only two races into the season.
Kimi deserves all the praise, and I'm happy to know that the other drivers will probably go out of their way to make sure he knows it.

Deck: This card creation system is kinda fucked up?
Gimmick: Raigeki

Destroy All
Invocation
Destroy all warriors target opponent controls. (This is also a perfectly balanced card.)

Choose one:
-You gain 1 life.
-Target opponent loses 1 life.
Gain AND Drain
Invocation

So, card creation in Perfect Draw uses a point system with a few metrics. The relevant ones here are "powerful" and "versatile". If an effect gives you card advantage, such as destroying an opponent's card, it's an amount of "powerful" equal to the card advantage it gives. So destroying 1 monster is 1 powerful is 1 point. What about destroying all opponent's warriors? The card creation rules say to assume each player probably has 1-2 warriors on the field, so that's 2 points.
Next is "versatile". Any time a card gives you an additional option, that's 1 versatile, which is also 1 point. "Destroy target warrior" lets you choose which warrior gets destroyed, so it's versatile. 1 versatile + 1 powerful = 2 points. "Destroy all opposing warriors" doesn't give you any choices, so it's 0 versatile + 2 powerful = 2 points.
The Gain/Drain cards are the same way. The OR lets you choose (versatile 1) between effects of powerful 1, for a total of 2. The AND gives you two effects of powerful 1 with no choices, for a total of 2. Technically all these cards are worth 3 points because they're "consistent", but that doesn't change anything; they're all worth the same amount.
Obviously something's not right here. Getting choices can be powerful, yes. Getting to choose which warrior is destroyed is stronger than, for example, if it was random. But the rules treat "getting to choose between 2 effects" and "getting two effects" as equally powerful.
I feel like I MUST be missing something. This isn't some loophole or exploit, it's the basic rules of card creation, applied to dead-simple effects. They can't have messed up something so simple, right? But I can't read the rules in any way that makes "destroy all opposing warriors" as anything other than 2 points, and "destroy target warrior" is explicitly mentioned as being 2 points.
That said: This is the demo version. Maybe it's an early draft, or maybe the full version gets into more detail, or maybe I misinterpreted something. If anyone wants to read through the card creation rules and see if they can make this make sense, or if anyone reading this has the full version, please comment, I want to understand.
UPDATE: I bought the full version and ribbons exactly solve this problem :D
it is bad of me to not care about kimi's wins? i haven't really seen his skill much, PLUS its a very good car.... we have seen his last season driving. everything and everyone is hyping him up so much but im like i haven't seen him really drive
You're allowed to care or not care about whatever you want, anon! Don't let anyone try to dictate that for you.
Kimi definitely has talent, but it’s the car that has put him in the very fortunate position he's currently in. I never want to see a Mercedes win a championship, but I'm happy he's having such a good season because if a Mercedes has to win, I'd much rather it be him than George.
Something about the symmetry poetry of Max's suzuka streak being ended by Kimi, someone who clearly looks up to him like crazy, BUT ALSO Charles having to hear the Italian anthem but it's not for him, the prince of Monaco, it's for this kid now
If I was a good writer I could make something of this 😭
This ask is poetry in and of itself, anon.
And, at least it's their kid, which probably softens the blow signficantly for them both.
Had Lewis been Kimi's teammate, he would have made a point out of sounding happy for Kimi on that radio. Same with Max, Charles, Alex, etc
Oh, 100%. I think every senior driver would have been able to put at least a tiny bit of enthusiasm into their voice had they been Kimi's teammate. Hell, even the rookies would have been able to fake it.
As much as I love Kimi, we can associate that genuinely being happy and so happy for him is pretty hard not even gonna lie. God let us have a good weekend and good weekends after this crappy one because this was a very shitty one.
Nah, I'm genuinely happy for him because this is a huge deal. And he's keeping whiny, bitter George off that top spot which is a very important bonus.
Congratulations to Kimi! Here's hoping that if a Mercedes has to become the WDC this year, it ends up being him.
