Master Klakon perished protecting young Kaar from the clones’ attack on the Jedi, and Kaar’s been on the streets surviving the best he could ever since. He was hunted by the Inquisitorius, but was never caught. He still keeps his master’s lightsaber, having not gotten to construct one of his own.
For @darthvronton and mentioning @kaosstar‘s Ziminder, since this takes place when Thav and Zim are still together.
Set during chapter 14 of SWTOR’s KOTFE.

Altan stepped out of the Mandalorian war tent. He was excited. When Theron mentioned meeting up with allies on Darvannis he hadn’t expected those allies would be Mandalorians, but now that he knew he couldn’t be happier. It had been a long time since he last fought side by side with them. The Pureblood started to walk around a camp, to see which clans had answered the new Mandalore’s call. Clan Fett was there, he already knew that, considering his encounter with Khomo Fett in the tent, as well as clan Cadera. He recognized clan Ordo’s colours, as well as the new Mandalore’s own clan, Vizla.
His gaze fell upon a large creature in one of the corners of the encampment. Altan tilted his head slightly. He knew the species; they were called Crysfangs on Voss and Mawvorr on Zakuul. The Voss did not allow any creature native to their planet to leave, but he was aware that quite a few of them ended up on the Black Market. He also knew one person among the Mandalorians, who’d taken an interest in Mawvorr and bred them.
Altan walked over to the Mawvorr. Despite the circumstances the Mawvorr was quite calm and allowed him to get close. Maybe she recognized him. “Hello, Big Boss.” He scratched the Mawvorr behind the plates and horns. “Where is your owner, big girl?”
“Right here,” it sounded near him.
Altan rose to his feet and looked up. A big grin appeared on his face. He’d recognize that voice anywhere and he was very pleased to hear it again. “Su cuy’gar, Thav.”
Thav shook her head, as if she almost couldn’t believe her eyes. “Well, I’ll be damned. Altan!” She walked over to him to give him a hug. “What are you doing here? The last I heard of you was that Jala, Kaar and you were in hiding. Are you part of the Alliance they said we’d work with here?”
“Yes, we are. Kaar is here as well. Jala has remained behind at our headquarters on Odessen.” Altan looked about himself, to see if he could find his husband. When the lanky Jedi finally appeared in his line of view he called out to get Kaar’s attention and motion for him to join them.
Kaar’s eyes widened when he saw who was standing near Altan. “Thav!” Finally a familiar face. “What are you doing here?”
Thavari chuckled and pointed at her armor. “I’m Mandalorian, aren’t I? Mandalore called and clan Lok answered.”
They sat down on a couple of ammunition crates nearby. There was a lot to talk about, to catch up on, considering they hadn’t seen each other for years. Thav reached for her supply pack and offered Kaar and Altan some rations. “Sorry it’s just rations. It’s been rather tough under the Zakuul occupation. We’ve been fighting ever since Zakuul attacked and we’re running out of supplies.”
“We heard about Mandalore the Vindicated. How did he die?”
Thav took a deep breath. “When Zakuul attacked our outposts he calle the clans together. We actually managed to hold out and keep on fighting for quite a long time. The battles on the heartworlds were especially tough. Zo and I were there, when Mandalore died. He was swarmed by skytroopers. They were targeting him on purpose. We tried to get to him, but we couldn’t reach him in time. The clans scattered after his death and that’s when the squabble started over who would become the new Mandalore. Once Mandalore the Avenger was chosen the clans rallied again. We’ve been fighting since then.”
Altan took a sip of his drink. There were so many things they’d missed due to their imprisonment on Zakuul. There was so much catching up to do. “How is clan Lok faring now?”
For a moment Thav looked up and pointed out their corner of the encampment. “What you see is what you get. We’ve lost many people. Mandalore’s death hit us hard. We’re here though, we’ll keep on fighting as long as we have to. We’ll tear that factory down.” Now that they were all caught up on the Mandalorian news it was Thav’s turn to ask some questions. She looked at both Altan and Kaar. “What happened to you? We didn’t hear from you for ages and then Zim suddenly got that message that you were in hiding.”
Kaar scratched his head. “Well, that’s a long story, Thav.”
She chuckled and pointed at the factory. “We won’t be able to take that factory in a day, so I’m guessing there’ll be plenty of time for you to tell that story when we’re not fighting.”
Neither Kaar nor Altan could disagree with her on that one. A strategy to take the droid factory was still being devised and they should probably join Mandalore in the tent again for that. “We’ll tell you the story, soon.” They got up when they saw Khomo Fett motioning for them to join Mandalore for battle planning.
What if Wednesday: What if Kaar never left the Jedi and defected to the Empire?
That would mean he actually had some decent friends who weren’t just using his abilities to track down a couple of sith out of vengeance. :o! He’d still feel like something was missing, but he wouldn’t be able to figure it out. He might eventually take a padawan learner, hopefully someone as stubborn and argumentative as he is XD
