Nerya for @darthvronton
Hey Wil, hope you're having a great day and may the fourth be with you!
...and also with you.
Back with something for the Oc Kiss time! Ardralios and Jala time @darthvronton
I just wanted to thank you for writing books for two of my favorite star wars characters, and I hope you get tapped to write more for star wars!
Thank you, and me tooooooooooooo. :)
M, for any character
Oh, thank you for the prompt ♥When I started it kind of turned into a snippet of Alani’s past… so, here we go:
There are moments in life where you just wish you could turn back the time. Sometimes just five minutes back would be enough; maybe even just one. But it’s impossible and then you realize that it’s true… that there are three things you can’t ever take back or make undone; the arrow you shot, the word you said and the missed opportunity.
Morality
PUT A WORD IN MY ASK AND I WILL WRITE A HEADCANON ABOUT IT FOR MY CHARACTER.
For me, exploring an Imperial character is about exploring a completely different, supremely fundamental moral basis.
Power is valued over everything else.
The Emperor is a supreme being and might as well be a god (he’s lived long enough).
Order is paramount. It’s what ensures the prosperity of a thriving Empire.
Everyone exists to serve the Empire or Imperial interests, with the possible exception of #1.
There is nothing wrong with slavery; it’s a necessary institution that serves and grows the Empire. It’s not even an evil institution; simply one that exists, on par with banks and public transportation.
Xenophobia is natural, makes sense, and encouraged, with few exceptions (#1).
Anything outside the norm is condemned, unless you have enough of #1.
The Empire is the good guys and the “Dark Side” of the Force is only called Dark because it’s a side that historic Force users who ousted the Sith chose to ignore. Much like the dark side of the moon, which also, is not actually dark. Nobody thinks of themselves as evil.
The Republic is a chaotic abomination that gets nothing done and thus serves no population responsibly.
The Jedi are arcane, supremely evil, manipulative space wizards who will bend your mind and change your thinking against your will, or make you go insane.
These are only the visible results of the moral basis (and century-long beliefs). It’s not enough to take a Sith and lock him up with the Jedi for a few months and expect that “education” is enough to change his mind or instill a different world view. A moral basis doesn’t work that way; it takes extensive exposure and a willingness to explore alternative ideas, and even then there are moral fundamentals that will remain.
Blakk was raised in this environment, and he is 100% in line with this mindset. But, like everyone else, he’s not a drone, and he runs into conflict between what he feels is right and what he “knows” to be right. There are times he’s acted counter to accepted moral principles, and he still kicks himself for it. One huge theme in his story is the discovery of how wrong some of his fundamental beliefs are, but it’s a long journey and there’s a difference between knowing something is wrong and feeling it. He will always have some level of internal conflict, because while some of his fundamental beliefs may successfully change, his people are still his people, and nothing is actually black and white.
(I was going to also write about Iegan, because he’s an entirely different bag of tricks, but this got too long and it’s dinnertime. :’D
PSA - Also, this absolutely goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyway for those that need it: exploring or establishing a moral basis that flies in the face of accepted fundamental human rights in no way whatsoever suggests that I condone or believe any of it.
End PSA.)

Aww, thank you my friend ♥ Warms my heart in these cold, sniffly times
A box of a variety of cookies is sent to Darth Exvind and his darling wife, Valere, from Darth Vronton, along with a pair of poinsettia flower crowns with a piece of paper with a drawing of Exvind and Valere wearing the flowers that had been made by a very small child.
The fact I did not respond and post this is horrifying on my part and. I cannot even get into character. I need to stop using mobile.
