That was better. Now that Brendan wasn’t towering over him, he was a little less frightened. “Thanks. That’s a bit better now.” Brett smiled to prove as such, before speaking to Brendan again.

“Just like me? But grown up?” He was right about him not being scary, but.. then again, this kid did look about Iris’ age. “How old is considered grown up?”

It appears the ghosts from his past may be finally catching up to him.

He honestly wasn’t expecting running into a familiar face in such a far away region, Unova should be the place where he turns a a new page in his life- and start anew.

But- that may come undone, if that kid ends up recognizing him bringing everything up once more. Tabitha is confident that won’t happen- after all it has been many years after that incident (and the fact he had a small note with his name written on it- Homura), but he has learned to not be too confident.

Right, all that he needs to do is to hand the drink to him. And hopefully, they won’t bother to look at his face.

Her bright grin remained in place as he accepted her basket. She then bounced on the spot a little in excitement. It had been soooo long since she had last seen him!

And alright, maybe she had been hoping to see him and see if he was avoiding her, and maybe she had been pushed by the Contest managers to try lure him back to the stages but...those were minor details really.

❝You’re welcome!! You deserve some goodies!❞

With soft, smiling eyes, she looked him over to try figure out if he had been doing alright. She had missed seeing him around the Contest Halls and had been trying to pick up on news about him. If he wasn’t now holding the basket she had given him, she probably would have hugged him!

❝How have you been anyway?? Have you miiiiiiissssed me~?❞

She giggled and waved away the latter comment with a hand, ❝It’s been forever since we last saw each other! It’s like you’re hiding from me or something!❞

Honestly, even if it wasn’t for the managers pushing at her, she would be dying to ask him if he ever planned to return to Contests. The question was ready to jump off the tip of her tongue, but she didn’t want to push him right now and she had other things to ask about.

    She was more preoccupied with playing with her oddly coloured Buizel than to notice another. She couldn’t help it though -- Zee was always affectionate and cute. And right now he was attempting to make her laugh. He knew she needed it.

Though as she was hugging him, it was Zee that noticed him. While it didn’t seem like the stranger was approaching them, he still decided that he needed to check him out. Something about him just seemed.... odd. That or maybe Zee wanted to see if he had something interesting on him -- well the hat was strange, so there was that.

Only when the Buizel ran up to him and began to sniff had Kimiko finally take notice.

         “Ahh? Pardon? My apologies... Zee has a great curiosity. Please, do not mind him.”

Once the boy in front of him had shut his eyes, he waited for a moment, his voice chiming like a soft bell echoing through the quiet forest.

“No peeking!”

Tiny fingers reached out and closed around Brendan’s hands. He held them there for a moment, making sure his eyes stayed closed.

“I want to show you something, I’ll make sure you don’t trip so don’t worry.” Wally gently guided him a few steps away, watching the ground in case of small objects. He wasn’t sure he’d be able to support him in the event of falling, but he was confident they wouldn’t get to that point. After all, the clearing he was leading Brendan to was near and the serene trickle of water was now audible. He hoped it didn’t give his surprise away.

Without letting go of his hands, just in case, he paused. “We’re here, you can open your eyes now,” his voice was still quiet, as if the whole world was sleeping. The only waking movement was a small spring of water dripping steadily down tall rocks, creating a mini waterfall leaking into a clear pool of sparkling water.

“I found this place a while ago and it’s one of my favorite places to be. I thought you might like it, it’s a good place to sit and think or draw, or anything really. I haven’t seen people around here, but occasionally Pokémon wander towards me. I was able to feed a wild tailow once! ” He gazed at the pond before looking back at Brendan excitedly.
