Kabaneri AU x BNHA

Okay guys, I watched this interesting, cool anime with 12 episodes only - Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress and honestly how could I not think about an AU with one of my favourite animes.

If you didn’t watch it - what are you doing…?! Quickly go and watch it.

The world building and the story goes like:

So a strange virus appears out of nowhere that transforms the infected humans into Kabane (which means basically corpse) and rapidly spreads. Kabane are aggressive, walking dead creatures that cannot be defeated easily because the heart of Kabane is protected by a layer of iron, pierced, or an important body part is completely severed. Also their veins, eyes and heart glows(which makes them even cooler but sadly - scary) Again, sadly, most melee weapons as steam-pressure guns used by the police(kinda off) in this world are not very effective against them, because they’re protected by the iron cage around their heart and veins. Almost forgot to include how powerful Kabane are. Like seriously, those zombies are amazing, I love their creator tbh. + the action is gold

Part of the humanity living on impontant island(the only place in the story with big role tho, like there are not other continents mentioned, only that the Kabane runned over the world), people have built fortress-like “stations” to shelter themselves from these walking scary(yet cool) zombies. People access the stations and transport wares between them with the help of fortified steam locomotives and stuff like that trying to survive (nicely). One day, a locomotive basically drived(unintentionally I swear) by the Kabane crashes into the impontant Station(where our heroes rise up like revolutionaries) and they overrun the city. A young engineer called Ikoma(the mad fucker with cool skill to use his head like not so many characters did in other stories™) uses the opportunity to test with success his anti-Kabane weapon, the “piercing gun” it was called, but is infected in the process, although he manages to resist the virus and become a Kabaneri [half-zombie but with human mind and yeaaaah that’s cool] (also because using his head), a human-Kabane hybrid. And there the story begins. I’ll put a picture with the cool zombies because I need you to watch it - the fandom is too small!

Just look at them - I love it.

Anyway, know to the BNHA AU(if you didn’t watch it it’s ok, I hope I explain well so you can insight in the story)

Izuku Midoriya - Lives in the UA station, loses his father to the corpses at young age when they break in UA sensing too many people on one place(UA is the smallest station tho, but when there's blood there are corpses drawn by it). He had to kill his own father before he turns into corpse and start eating humans. He could not take it to see his father like this and do it.

He and Hisashi both loses Inko in the panicked crowd, she safely takes on one of the locomotives, worryingly sick about her kid and husband. They are separated for months.

Izuku is saved in the last minutes by passing All Might, who couldn’t help but take the broken, brave child to the last locomotive.

Izuku suffers so much he starts to seek information about the Kabane to find a way to cure them or to stop the virus. Which sadly takes him to being bitten while the locomotive is taking a stop about fuel or provisions. With his knowledge from his researches and All Might he successfully controls the virus and becomes Kabaneri(half-corpse with his mind clear as day)

He later find out All Might is Kabaneri too, and that he had secrets. That he knows all of the searches Izuku had made, all that info he shared - AM already knows. This knew makes him feel betrayed. While AM was amazed by how a kid could found out the truth without using horrible methods to do so or with other people working for years.

AM kinda adopts Izu after freckled boy forgives him but only after AM shares everything with him, what he know about the Kabane and Kabaneri.

(I may write it someday… but rn I’m lazy) this is part 1. I’ll do maybe more. Hope this got you interested in the anime because is awesome and the action is satisfying!!!!

Closeup of my boi on the submas aggie last night! :D

I have to figure out how the sheaths on those things work because of the hook on the end, but that was too much research to do for a late night Aggie hangout. That's a problem for later.

Also I was playing around with the sketch and I wanted to do a fun little reference to the battle for Unato :)

I'm back at it again with the obscure crossover of an anime no one has heard of!

All of the villages/towns in Hisui are walled cities connected by a big train system. This au, wardens are guardians of their respective stations, fighting off Kabane (zombies) alongside their nobles. There is a station for every noble, plus the clan settlements and jubilife village. The warden uniforms are a set of armor in clan colors, although the divide between the pearl clan and the diamond clan is almost non-existent by now.

Some stuff about kabaneri Ingo (kabaneringo, if you will.)

Ingo had all of his memories when he landed in Hisui. It was really odd for him, being thrust into a different region in a different time period, in the middle of what seemed like the apocalypse. Ingo recognized the Kabane because Emmet really liked supernatural things like cryptids and myths. He just never believed they were real until he saw them with his own eyes.

Ingo was staying in Moonview Station when it was overrun. Melli and Lord Electrode did their best, but there was nothing they could do but evacuate. Ingo ended up near the back of the fleeing crowd, and he got caught and bit before he could get on the outbound train.

Ingo remembered something Emmet said about about a myth that a few people in Hisui had survived Kabane bites by cutting off the infection from reaching their heads. As ridiculous and far fetched as it sounded, it was Ingo's only shot at living to see his brother again, so he tied his tie around his neck and prayed to the dragons.

He passed out before the transformation finished. Lady Sneasler, who had arrived too late to support Melli and Lord Electrode, had to come rescue him from his self-inflicted strangulation. Ingo was still himself when he woke up, but... There were consequences to having all of his oxygen cut off for too long.

On a lighter note, Ingo dual wields knives! He's the only one in hisui bold enough to use such a close combat weapon (until Akari), but that's just because he is immune to kabane bites and has accelerated healing. (⁠ ⁠╹⁠▽⁠╹⁠ ⁠)

Submas AU Masterpost

Mirror AU:

Even separated by time and space, Emmet and Ingo somehow manage to match each other in more ways than just their appearances. It's entirely accidental... Until half a year after Ingo's disappearance when they realize that they can see each other in mirrors. From then on, they are a lot more hopeful about their futures. Nimbasa City, however, is not hopeful as the Subway Boss speedruns a transformation from a poor little meow meow to a full blown cryptid.

Prophet and Heretic AU:

Before he can join the Pearl Clan, Ingo goes to the rift on Mount Coronet for answers. Palkia and Dialga are too busy throwing hands to hear. Arceus does, though, and oh geez he should have thought things through before appearing before a mortal. By the time Ingo recovers from his holy fainting spell, he has all his memories back, spooky god powers, and a new headmate. At least Arceus promised to return him home in return for completing some quest to save the world...

Centuries in the future, a very lonely and remorseful Giratina approaches Emmet with a deal.

Paper Lantern AU:

When Ingo gets torn from his own time, he gets torn from his body as well. With nothing but his human soul, he possesses a paper lantern and invents a regional variant of Chandelure. His ace would be so proud. Meanwhile, Emmet is left with Ingo's alive but verrry much comatose body.

Ditto Emmet AU:

I just wanted to hit one of the boys with a shape shifter beam and Emmet is my favorite. A lot fun shape shifter things here. Like family fluff and body horror! And also Emmet copying the incarnation of time itself, hehehe-

Ghost Train AU (Danny Phantom Crossover):

The Distortion World is really just the Pokemon world's name for their version of the Ghost Zone. Ingo and Dawn get eaten up by a couple of natural portals, and two newly formed halfas arrive in Hisui a year apart. Arceus won't touch ghost child Akari with a ten-foot pole, but it all works out in the end anyways because Akari can't not help the nobles, and the Distortion World/Ghost Zone is a great medium for traversing time and space.

Submas Fusion AU:

Ingo and Emmet went to hisui together, but the distortion world said they can't have nice things. A man with no idea who or what he is woke up in a black and white coat in the coronet highlands, with only a handful of Joltik to protect him. He couldn't remember his name, but E and I came to mind. So, he guesses his name is Ei now...

Gear Session:

Homestuck au!

Arceus found a copy of Sburb in the Pokemon world and thought "that's not good" and sent the Nimbasa trio plus Akari on a mission to destroy the incipisphere from the inside out. No reckoning destroying the earth or frog breeding here, but there is a lot of temporary death. You know. Prototyping dream selves and questbeds and all that.

Fluff and Scales AU:

Hybrid au, but Ingo and Emmet are legendary hybrids.

Ingo and Emmet were born with black and white dragon wings. No one recognized them, so it was chalked up to a couple undiscovered species of pokemon and life continued as normal. But Drayden always suspected there was something more to them than that.

His suspicions were confirmed during the Team Plasma invasion, after which everyone and their mother knew what the dragons of legend looked like. And anyone who had ever been to Nimbasa could recognize the white fluff and black scales.

Also featuring Arceus hybrid Jackie and Absol hybrid Beni.

Tron AU:

Ingo got eebied to the grid instead of Hisui! He runs around the computer systems of Unova for about a month thinking he's a program, until he finds Gear station. The train autopilot programs, called ATOs, help their poor amnesiac User remember who he is, while someone unexpected brings Emmet into the digital world to help.

Thrice is a Pattern:

There were three skyfallers in Hisui. The first was an accident. The second was a failed rescue attempt. The third was the one who saved them all. Trainer Dawn never makes it back home after entering the distortion world, ending up in Hisui instead. Ingo is sent to the past to make it right, but he forgets his mission before he can even start. It's up to Lucas, now.

Kabaneri au:

Crossover with Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress! Instead of frenzies, Giratina unleashes a corruption on Hisui that turns people and pokemon into mindless zombies called Kabane. Arceus sends Dawn to cleanse the region, and promises she will be immune to the curse. He fails to mention that to do so, he will have to take away her humanity first.

And by wife, I mean Ingo's.

@ghostypetrainer and I have been chatting back and forth about Zisu/Ingo since yesterday and it makes me so happy. They are the cutest.

So I'm thinking maybe they meet sometime before Akari's arrival, when the Koutetsujou regularly stops at Clamberclaw Station for supplies, but they don't get to see each other much until the station falls and Ingo joins the crew. Then they're practically inseperable outside of emergencies.

PLA BUT MAKE IT KABANERI OF THE IRON FORTRESS

I saw my friend blaidd doing an obscure anime crossover and i decided i wanted in. I thought for a sec. And i realized there is this awesome underrated anime with trains in it that i absolutely adore, so.

Feel free to ask me any questions about the source material and how I'm incorporating it into the crossover! I am fully prepared for no one to know what the heck I'm talking about :P

Few basic facts about KotIF under the cut:

Steampunk tech. Trains and guns are things, but there isn't much else.

The world is overrun by zombies called Kabane. They are capable of handling rudimentary tools. You can kill them if you remove their heads or pierce their hearts, but they have iron casing around their hearts called a "heart cage" that makes it hard to kill them from a far range.

It is possible to keep your mind and become a Kabaneri if blood flow to the head is cut off during the transformation. If you manage to survive the hypoxia and the stress of the transformation, congrats, you now are harder to kill and need to drink blood to survive. :>
