Like I thought it was a tøp fandom inside joke thing but no, my friend texts me drag path has ruined her after I was yapping about how it’s ruining me and I was like holy cow how do YOU know about that song and she says TikTok duh, so I’m like well damn how’d it ruin you and I kid you not she says

Ever since dandadan blew up with the anime I’ve been seeing so many people call okarun by his actual name that it lowkey gives me whiplash cuz I got so used to his name being forbidden that I deadass did not remember his real name until seiko said it like ten chapters ago lol.

Anyway if you call him ken takakura you’re a fed and you’re actively trying to give poor momo a heart attack

Aira haters trying to comprehend that a character that has depth and has clearly been shown to be empathetic and kind, can also be an air headed and foolish teenager who has stated clearly she doesn’t understand or have much experience with anything romance related, so of course she’s gonna act like an idiot, especially if the advice she got was from her fathers adult magazines:

watching the downstairs live performance video made me wanna scream cry and throw up. It was so cathartic and literally soul touching. Tyler always writes about his faith in a way that’s so raw, vulnerable, and authentic that makes you really appreciate it and just love his expression for his faith even if you aren’t Christian yourself.

Like the line "I want to be the one after your own heart" can be related to as just wanting to be special to somebody and having a strong devotion to them. Tyler creates this space where we can join him and he can wear his heart on his sleeve, coexisting together because the human nature of wanting to love something or someone bigger than yourself isn't exclusive to religion.

Tyler often writes about his doubts in Gods love for him and vice versa, but I think just the fact that he’s being so open and honest about that shows a level of trust so deep that you just look at it and go “wow, that’s beautiful. How can a soul have such an intimate connection with another?”. He knows God will always be his safe place, so he feels safe enough to be human and make mistakes, to ask for forgiveness, to be angry, to question. That is faith, that is love, and I appreciate Tyler for sharing it with us. Especially for those of us who maybe have a complicated relationship with religion.

I just saw an insta reel bout how dandadan fans are gonna have to be defending next weeks episode, and all im gonna say is if you’re caught up and STILL complaining about episode one, then either shut up or drop it bc for 8 weeks you’ve sat down every Thursday and got invested in a story about a boy getting his balls back. If that doesn’t set the bar for how wacky the series is then idk what.

Also it’s not “fan service” the aliens made their intentions very clear, they were here to repopulate by any means necessary, not to get chummy and have a party 😭 episode 1s abduction scene wasn’t supposed to be fan service, and if you viewed it that way or got hot and bothered while watching then imma need you to turn off your electronics and go outside for a bit.

Now does dandadan have fan service? Yeah just like any other series (but after these first few arcs the fan service is basically gone). But were those uncomfortable scenes meant to be fan service? No, it was showing how much of a threat the aliens are and setting up a deep distrust towards them. Unlike with someone like acrobatic silky, we don’t have an easy time understanding or even forgiving the aliens. I won’t spoil the manga but just know there’s a complicated relationship between the gang and the serponians.

i have a question that bugs me a bunch, and i saw another ask about dandadan theories so like, i would love to have your input. where in the nine hells are okarun's parents, and why does he feel like he's a latchkey kid(kid that basically spends the whole day alone at home because parents are away and working and such, probably worse than in rin's situation) he never once mentioned them, or ever referenced he gotta call them to let them know he's away in a way that feels deliverate by the author. he also doesnt have a lot of money to spend for necesities like his school uniform or getting something small for momo. there was a theory that he's secretly an alien and that even he doesnt know it himself, but it was mostly referencing his protagonist traits which doesnt make sense when compared to the other people in the cast anyway. apologies if its kinda incoherent and rambly, its 2 am here and he's living rent free in my mind

I think okarun’s parents are probably working all the time and not home which is why he can get away with not being home for a few days and always being out on wacky adventures and coming home all dirty lol. This makes sense because if his family is on the poorer side than of course his parents would be working all the time.

That or perhaps he just doesn’t have a good relationship with his parents. He was lonely when he was a kid and was teased just like momo, but at least momo had her grandma to come back to even if she did push her away. Maybe okarun’s home life isn’t the best and his parents don’t care about what he’s up to so that’s another reason he can get away with being away.

Everybody else’s parents have been mentioned at least once, so it’s definitely weird that we don’t know anything about okarun’s. I’ve never heard of the alien theory, but I can see how it fits! It could help explain why his body was so compatible with turbo granny’s power (even though that’s only cuz turbo granny was holding on real tight to his soul when she got forced out but whatever let’s spice up canon a bit).
