Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D. (1990)
Normal Action Movie:
1) The reason the granddaughter of the great elder didn’t receive the mystical powers of her people, who instead went to White Straight Man #53.
2) Straight white man #53 was actually the chosen one, and that’s the reason why he masters the mystic powers with ease.
2) Also, the granddaughter couldn’t possibly handle such mystic powers because she would have been too much emotional or something like that.
3) She and White Dude end up banging in the end.
STG Kabukiman, N.Y.P.D:
1) The reason why the granddaughter of the current Kabukiman couldn't receive the powers of Kabukiman was because he was a sexist fuck, as the granddaughter herself states.
2) He had also chosen an Asian-American Man to pass the powers of Kabukiman on, but the chosen one and his family got killed at the start of the movie, so Grandfather had to pass his powers on to a random Police Detective while he was dying even despite having his granddaughter nearby because, as it was already stated, he was a sexist fuck.
3) The Police Officer is a shitty Kabukiman from start to finish, turning into a clown at one time and having his best moment when, losing his powers, he proceeds to arrest one of the villains like a normal cop, and only manages to save the day cause the female Asian lead stops the Monkey from riding the Jaguar (Long Story). He also acknowledges that without her he would’t be Kabukiman, and that she would have been way better at the job.
4) They still end up banging in the end, and the movie fridges the detective female partner during the middle of the movie and turns the Asian female lead into a damsel in distress during part of the climax, but it’s still more than what you would expect from a big budget movie with a similar plot.
BONUS: One day he’ll have to pass the powers of the Kabukiman to someone, and you can bet that if he and the Asian Female Lead have conceived a daughter in the meantime, he will pass said powers to her instead of some random Joe who happened to be nearby when he was dying from gunshot wounds.
