Behold some o my favorite ways to wear the bracelets that I admittedly do like to collect. All the leather ones are from Sabretooth Leather on etsy and the silver (brass) kada bracelets are either from this one seller- beta girl or this one Jaipur, India based seller- JewelryMakingArt.
For the kada, I'm fond of the ones that are a little spiky in a way or have pieces that poke out. Plus they have a screw to secure them so they don't have to be big enough to fit over my hand to wear- unscrew and then slide on, rescrew to attach. Much better for dancing than slip on bangles. And also they're heavier and would definitely do damage if they slipped off while dancing.
And it's really interesting seeing what I could find on the background behind wearing kada. I'm definitely no expert, but it seems that meaning behind color and designs can differ depending on where in India they originate from? But Sikh Kadas or Karas are a symbol of devotion while the term referring to the jewelry in general is used for fashion purposes in India.
In any case, they're beautiful and I'm going to see about if there's any books that go more into the history behind kada designs.
Do I wear them to the club? Absolutely. It's like wearing solid brass spiky bracelets.
Also I should add that @_willow._.scarlet_ on instgram has an entire thing on harm done to indian artisans and jewelry makers and cultural appropriation in goth scenes. Was very illuminating and something to keep in mind when taking cultural items out of the context they were made in.
i made some fanart of bianry getting his screen smashed in with a hammer!
only look at this if you fucking ate binary :D
and here's another piece I drew if you like problematicule!!!
only look at this if you love karkat and kada and binary :D
Analyzing the Kada/Takasugi interactions in episode 215.
So, I finally managed to start the new season and see my beloved again. Episode 215 was nothing but sort of amazing, I loved the relationship between Kamui and Takasugi, plus, all the interactions among the Kiheitai members. The episode had plenty of great moments but there was a scene, or rather a sequence of scenes, that caught my attention and that is the ones that included Kada. I'll try to give my own interpretation of this scene, in case anyone was also intrigued by it.
The first time Kada appears in the episode, she is playing a game of Odds or Evens with the help of a nut and a bolt, all by herself. When Kamui first appears, he takes part in her game by guessing that underneath the cup, it's evens.
Peacock Princess Kada for @sararaiden
"Otose’s faction? It’s just a bar, really. She’s just an old lady with a soft heart. But if you try any funny business on her turf, you’ll run into a certain guy. A guy who holds his own against the Big Three by himself. One hell of a monster, with hair that’s completely white. A demon.”
Grabe 'yung growth collectively and individually in so many aspects.
Eme!
