Gardens Of Kadesh - Homeworld Remastered Collection (2015)
My silly reason for trying EVE Online and the aftermath
This is the story: Three days ago I saw a YouTube recommendation on an EVE Online video. I watched a bit of the video (by Scott Manley) and got bored of it and I skipped half of it, just as a few years ago when I also thought the game itself was boring. Later the same day I looked up the map of EVE Online and to my surprise I saw different colored regions which was the space alliances controlled. Amongst those regions I saw the name The Kadeshi. Yes, the one and only Protectors of the Garden from the game series Homeworld. So I directly began to update the already downloaded EVE Online on my Steam account and started making my character and began to do the tutorial intro of the game. I was excited to make contact with them as soon as possible and talk about the Kadeshi from Homeworld.
After that I also looked up some info about The Kadeshi in the game. Well, it seemed like they were an elite gang since they only had five members and they didn’t seem to be awfully active anymore according to some logs on websites. So I kind of gave up the idea of trying to contact them.
The thing was, EVE Online made me so sleepy and I hadn’t even really started playing it outside the tutorial yet. So I stopped playing it that day. I will give it another few more hours of gameplay this week but it doesn’t seem to be my thing.
Well, what can you expect from an old but well refined game? That, in my opinion, a lot of old games are good in their ways but are hard to get into if you didn’t play them in your early memories of video games.
"This is the Garden of Kadesh. For thirteen generations we have protected it from the unclean. The Turanic Raiders who came before you refused to join and were punished for this trespass. Like theirs, your ship has already defiled this holy place. If you have come to join we welcome you and will spare your ship until all have disembarked. If you have come to consume the garden you will be removed at once." — Kadeshi Ambassador
Found it. :D Colored and all.
Here you go guys, more Homeworld fanarty goodness. Comic by MK01, whose tumblr I reblogged the prior comic from earlier. Colors by yours truly.
It's showing the Kadesh mission, right as the swarmers attack the Kushan exile fleet after the little (very one-sided) conversation with the Kadeshi Ambassador.
That ultimatum was awesome. ^_^ "There is no withdrawal from the Garden."
And now the swarmer battle music is stuck in my head. >_>
