Well, enough of you raised your hands, so here goes.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, to Cathleen and Andrew Bowers, the second of three children. (Nate, the oldest, and Becca, the youngest). She had a fairly normal childhood, looking up to her big brother and eventually resenting her little sister for stealing all the attention.
She started to rebel in high school, hanging out with the troublemakers and becoming one herself. It's a miracle she never got more than a warning. (Her dad had something to do with that, particularly when she took his boss' motorcycle for a joyride once.)
Her first serious relationship was with Tomey Valentine, a stoner kid who was a pretty good musician as well. They managed to last through high school, at least.
Towards the end of senior year, her dad decided once and for all to try and scare her straight by taking her with him for a day of work. He succeeded, also managing to ignite a desire in her to follow in his and a good number of their family's footsteps.
So in college (Temple University) she buckled down, majoring in criminal justice and doing well in her classes. Also during that time, she dated a fellow student for a while, eventually loosing her virginity to him.
She graduated, and joined the police department, soon getting partnered up with a man named Carlos Avana. They clicked almost immediately. Eventually, their friendship evolved into something more.
Kelley had just found out she was pregnant when they were sent out on a call in a quieter part of the city. Just a potential prowler, probably a stray dog, but they had to check it out anyways.
Turns out it wasn't either. It was an Adlet, a hairless, doglike creature usually found much farther north. It didn't appreciate being found, and before the two officers could do a thing, it pounced on Carlos, tearing out his stomach.
Before it could turn its attention onto the other officer, a shotgun shell stopped it.
Her saviors were a team of agents from a top secret government agency protecting mankind from the things that go bump in the night. They had been sent up all the way from Washington, DC to investigate the Adlet sightings, and good thing they did.
They offered her a choice, get interviewed at the Philadelphia branch office, or come to DC and possibly get a job offer if she checked out. Still in shock, she agreed to the latter.
Indeed she checked out, and was placed on a patrol team, run by a one Agent Darrin Roth. They got along alright for the most part.
Until one night when, waking with severe cramps and some bleeding, she ended up calling him first. He naturally called an ambulance, but showed up at her place as well, and waited with her.
Turns out she miscarried.
He visited her in the hospital, before she was released, and she lashed out at him, starting the change in their dynamic. He left.
She ended up spiraling into a state of depression for the next three months, avoiding human contact as much as she could, until the desire to throw herself into her work became powerful enough to try to return.
She was lucky. Her boss managed to keep her employed while she was out. She didn't thank him.
Their relationship remained rocky, even after she was put on a hunting team, run by a Natasha Yelchin. Until Darrin vanished one day, not coming back from a patrol. He was soon assumed dead.
The assumption was proven quite correct when, a couple of months later, his ghost appeared next to Kelley. And, unfortunately for her, only able to be seen or heard by her. He couldn't even get too far without poofing right back at her side.
Things did not go well. Her temper, always rather short, had only gotten worse since the miscarriage, and having her least favorite man haunting her only made things worse.

• She's of Irish descent, her mother having been born in Ireland, and her father half Irish himself.
• She rescued a baby griffin and has been placed in charge of caring for him. He's orange and his name is Garfield.
• She ended up in a rather unhealthy relationship with another member of the hunting team, Felix Sandborn, that basically was fighting followed by fucking.
