[Hello. It’s been a while, I know. As I may have mentioned in my last entries, life beyond Ouran has taken over, and my attention has shifted to writing out my personal future over Kyouya’s. Enough about us, however. I’m here to share this gift from a thoughtful friend who took years to lovingly produce this video... some parts even feature art from this blog. A short background: 10 years ago on a certain roleplay site, I befriended @kokoronoking​, the Tamaki to this Kyouya. My friend has since been a huge influence on Kyouya’s portrayal. Much like the actual host club, we had an insanely fun time in our roles, making people happy in the process. Those were 2 carefree years. In that span of time, we poured an extraordinary amount of thought into the characters, down to writing about their futures... and this blog was a byproduct of it. So if you enjoyed this blog in its heyday, Tamaki-mun is one of the reasons why. To Tamaki-mun: Thanks for this wonderful video and for helping bring this blog to life. While we may have moved on from our time playing “family” with guests, I hope you continue to make people around you smile the way you did in our time. Thank you ‘brother’. “Should I assume you mean an animal, and not a young lady? I’ve probably got something for that.”

He peered up his sleeve, and shook it out. POFF! A catnip mouse, a laser pointer, a ball with a jingle bell inside, and a soft, plush bed, just sized for a kitten.

“Might take you some time to wear it out, but these oughta do the trick.”

[Today marks one year since the inception of this blog. A year ago when I started this, I didn’t think I would take this too seriously... yet here we are. The questions you all have sent in have challenged me in terms of visual storytelling and planning, especially with Kyouya’s natural inclination towards subtlety and restraint. I want to take this time to thank everyone for your interesting questions and support. And most importantly, for being a huge part of my artistic growth this past year. This blog will not be where it is without you all.

[Interesting comparison of Hatori’s commentary on adult Kyouya across different translations. The first is from a fantranslation. The second is the VIZ translation most are familiar with. The last one is another official English translation from a lesser known publisher named Chuang-Yi/Madman, which I acquired just to see if that darned cat was named Noel or Noir. To my surprise however, that translation spelled it as Noelle. In any case, 2 out of 3 seems to confirm that in the Japanese raw, the cat’s name was spelled as  ノエル  - “Noeru” (Noel / Noelle). I seriously did not consider that the name could be interpreted as feminine. Likewise, I thought it would be funny to write that twist into this story, despite my longstanding headcanon and Hotta establishing in a previous comic that the cat was male…. Well, let’s just assume he didn’t check carefully. For the sake of convenience, I’ll still be spelling her name as “Noel.”]
