There’s already been a “Capitol Punishment” show. R-Truth got soda’d in the face and beaten by John Cena. Bad memories, man.

NXT Vengeance, I wouldn’t be opposed to. More than anything else, I’m happy to see how the rest of this show is going to shape up.

Charlotte

Am I a fan?: Absolutely.

Favorite move: The Figure Eight Leglock, which only further illustrates how downright painful the submissions of the NXT ladies are.

Favorite match: The fatal four-way between her, Sasha Banks, Bayley and Becky Lynch for the Women’s Title at NXT Takeover: Rival. Apart from Balor vs. Neville, that match stole the show.

Favorite feud: I really loved her feud with Bayley. The two of them had a really strong history built up, with Charlotte turning on her to join the BFFs. Later on down the road, with Bayley as the scrappy underdog and Charlotte as the established dominant force of the NXT women’s division, it was a recipe for greatness. The two of them receiving one another’s respect was ideal.

Favorite promo: “Bayley, stick to hugs… Or I will destroy you!” This particular promo may not be the best Charlotte has had but, to me, it showed me just how far she improved.

Dream match: I would have loved to see Charlotte vs. Kharma. Two strong female competitors, in their own ways, clashing for supremacy? I’d pay to see it. I also wouldn’t have minded seeing Charlotte vs. AJ Lee, even for just the visual contrast, and it’s sad that won’t happen now.

Seen live?: Unfortunately, no. Once Charlotte is called up to the main roster, though, I’ll be hopeful!

Unpopular opinion: That she may leave at the top of her game. With cases like AJ and Eve Torres, you could argue that they left just as they were at their prime. Charlotte is only getting better, which makes me fearful about whether or not she’ll be in WWE for the long haul. She’s one of the best talents NXT has developed, so my hopes are high for her.

10 and 27

10 - Favorite Stable

I’d have to say The Shield. The main reason for this is that they came around at a time where I all but lost hope in wrestling stables. The Straight Edge Society, while interesting, fizzled out long before it should have. The Nexus was the same, but I’d argue to a greater degree because of how many promising stars were affected. The Corre… Don’t get me started.

But The Shield made me believe again, simple as that. It featured a trio of up-and-comers, each of them with their own strengths to bring to the table. In addition, there wasn’t a clear leader, like CM Punk with the SES or Wade Barrett with The Nexus. Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns were on relatively equal footing, in terms of the group, and they worked better because of it. Also, the litany of six-man tag team matches were some of the best WWE has produced in a long time. That earns them major brownie points in my book.

27 - Who do you consider underrated?

Heath Slater. It might sound crazy but I honestly feel like Slater doesn’t get nearly as much credit as he deserves. Yeah, he’s portrayed as a goof, but he’s great when you give him the time to work. He knows what works and he’s able to sell like no one’s business. A lot of people say that Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins are the company’s two best sellers but Slater isn’t a slouch, either.

To better illustrate my point, when WWE had all of those legends on RAW back in 2012, who did they get to sell for them? Motherfucking Slater, and he made it work. I think that when WWE puts you in the ring with guys like Sycho Sid and Bob Backlund, admittedly older wrestlers who require more care, it’s a sign that the company trusts you. Slater is severely underrated, no doubt about it.

I really hope it doesn't come to that. Bayley's character is all about being upbeat and proud of yourself, regardless of how out of the ordinary you may appear to others. To me, she's the ideal role model for little girls who watch WWE. I do think that it can get lost in translation when it comes to crowd reaction, I agree.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. It really shows the stat WWE is in right now (at least as far as its creative goes) when the brand that’s supposed to be developmental shows more respect to the wrestlers and gives a better product than the main roster right now.

That's really the best way to put it. NXT, which is run by Triple H and his vision alone, definitely has an old-school feel. You get the feeling that everyone who earns respect is able to get it from the crowd. NXT treats them seriously, so they take NXT seriously, which is more than I say for a good number of RAWs in the past weeks.
